I was really upset when I missed the preview from SP last week, but I thank all of you who summerized it. I am sure we will all be seeing the preview again with more detail as the new movies(i.e. The Little Mermaid and Flubber) become available. From all the rumors I have heard so far, the wait will be well worth it.
on a side note, Ann a.k.a FBI agent, I looked up your profile on aol and it says you are only 16/17 years old...Since when did the FBI start recruting teenagers to bust all the fans of the Disney corporation?
Anna, I understand that you are just doing your job but if you search the web a little bit, you will find hundreds of pages where Disney images are used without permission. The owners of those images are aware of the existence of those pages but they don't mind because the maintainers of those pages DO NOT INTEND TO MAKE MONEY BY USING THOSE IMAGES!!!!! And they ALWAYS make clear that those images belong to Disney. And I agree with the others : you shouldn't post messages like this one here.Why did you post this here in the first place? If you want a word with the maintainer of the page with the S.P. pictures, go to his page and email him. And for one last time: You don't have to email Disney because they already know about it and believe me, they must feel really honoured that such wonderful sites are created for their movies.

Hi, Anne, i was just wondering, i know its illegal to but pictures of the tlk pics on your pages. but isnt it ok if you but a copyright under it stating that it is owned by disney? i might be wrong but i just wanted to know.

Hi, i saw that Sp preview too!!!!!! wasnt much of a preview but im still happy!!!! ok, i need to ask something, last week on the rosie o'donnel show she had mattew broadwick. i didnt watch it but i was wondering if anyone did and he said anything about Sp? please tell us if you know!
to Laura: where did you find information about the two offsiders of Zira? I mean, how do you know they will be Cheeta's?
I just got back from that SP page. The very first picture of the two cubs (I don't have names down yet. ;) ) kind of reminds me of some of the background for the annimated storybook. That paticular pic I could say is just something modified...check out Mtanga, for example, at: http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Studio/3789/index.html. Until I get a scanner and can use my hand-drawn pics, well, she's a modified Rafiki.
It's official. TLK2 shoes will be sold in late August. Found out about it on a shoe salesplace online.

Yes, Ducky, they are the same pictures as in the website I had just mentioned. Some people can't copy pictures off the web for some odd reason, and they can get pictures when and with their E-mail.

And his name is said to be Nuka or something.
Ok, I checked out Money Talks, and there is not a preview of S.P. on it. However, my co-worker is sure he saw at least something about TLK on a newly released video. I'll dig a little deeper to see what I can find.

Ive noticed that too Vicky, he also added something about Zira's offsider supposed to be funny, i hope thats true because comedy relief is the best part of a movie(at least thats my opinion)
I visited the Extraordinary Disney Animation Page again and I noticed that a new character has been added to the S.P. character list: VITANI, a female cub.It is not known which pride she belongs to and by whom she will be voiced.And the villainess, as many of you already said, will be named Zira.Also, I just read your messages concerning the LK Broadway Musical and I must say that the scene where Nala scratches Scar on his face sounds great.Just imagine what would happen if this was in the movie too:After Scar sends the hyenas out of his cave he starts thinking that it's time to choose a quin. Then Nala enters and after realising Scar's purpose, she scratces him and rans out.She tells the other lionesses that she has to go and after singing "Shadowland" she goes away.Then we go straight to the "Under the stars" scene where Timon, Pumba and Simba are lying on the grass.After that we can assume that Scar mated with Zira { I don't know if she were a member of the pride or not}.

McDonald's is planning a "Simba's Pride" Happy Meal promotion, which would start after Halloween 1998. Disney MUST release "Simba's Pride" around this time. You may recall that Warner Brothers HAD to finish "Space Jam" in time for its November 1997 release due to merchandising and promotional agreements (including one with McDonald's).
As far as I remember, it means The Lion King Is A Way Of Life....
I mean, OBVIOUSLY "TLK" stands for The Lion King, but the rest?

Did anyone see Rosie O'Donnel yesterday? Kathleen Turner was on and said that she's in "Simba's Pride", which is definitely coming out this summer, as Scar's widow who's raising Kovu to challenge Simba. She also has a really wacked-out lullabye and this will be her singing debut. (shrug) I'm prolly just reiterating info others already have posted, but, that's me... :/

rather long hair and a scar over his eye which I was
told was a Lion King spoof. I have no idea how he got it,

Ahh, but when Scar sent 'the lionesses' out, did that neccesarily include Nala? I thought about that (I'm not THAT demented! ;) ) and it is accounted for in my story, which I should finish soon, and have posted on Brian's lovely page that I spend too much time at...Oh sacred Lion King...

And anyways, id Disney wanted to sue, they`s sue already. They wouldn`t put a goverment organisation to seek out the web [now there`s a waste of money. How hard is it to go to infoseek and type Lion +King?]. From my point of view Disney only profits from us, since we are free comercial.
AND you`d think Disney would rather E-mail "illegal" [gimme a break] site owners and not post they idle threats on newsgroups.
Here`s a hint- get a more belivable idea [like you`r Elvis or something :] and then return. Maybe I`ll fall for it then ;)

1) Why just attack us TLK fans? There are Aladdin, Hunchback, Little Mermaid, etc. fans out there, too; why target just us? Now that I think about, why stop at Disney? Has the FBI made any such threats to, say, the Balto fans to talk to Universal?
2) Such material has been on the net long enough for just about *anyone* at Disney to notice (as I recall, we've even had some insiders post *here*), and they haven't said anything to us about hauling all of our rears to court.
3) If Mike Eisner does know, I doubt that he wants to take on the whole Disney fandom for proclaiming their love of own of the company's works. If he told us to take it all off, I for one would boycott Disney, and I'm probably not the only one. All in all, it's not good business to make the fanatics mad *g*
By the Anna, I truly doubt that you're really with the FBI. I'd practically bet money on the fact that you're just a basher. The "You didn't invite me so I'll crash" types. And if you are with the FBI, then, do tell, how are Mulder and Scully?

First off, I don't think anyone here wants to hurt themselves by plagerizing Disney's work. We all just have an insatiable appetite for all things Lion King!! Is it a general practice of an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigations to go about threatening others on public newsgroups? Just curious.
I also found it intriguing how you didn't mention an e-mail address for concerned individuals to write to you regarding more acceptable practices for publications of images, or post references to sites informing web publishers of the legalities surrounding copywright infringement. Just food for thought...

Hans Zimmer is NOT doing SP. However for all those of you telling of the web pages of Simbas pride stuff I thank you for making my job easier. Fanfics are Ok but when we have scanned pictures NOT authorized by Disney, you are infringing on the copyright and therefore, lawsuits against you. I would suggest removing the pictures immediately or I will contact Disney.

Just a couple of things:
-"Binti" means "miss" in Swahili. Sure, Zazu and his girlfriend miss.
-The cheetah off-siders remind me of the cheetahs (or maybe they were leapards) described in _The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe_ who helt Aslan's crown and scepter--true, they had little purpose other than that, but there is a slight resemblence.
-If Scar has a pride, wouldn't they be slightly offended when Scar left for the Pridelands? Why would he go on his own without them?
-Any word about Zimmer for SP? I love that guy!
-Rafiki in it? He's my friend.
-Why do we drive on parkways and drive on parkways? Whoops, got carried away. ;)

As I write this, I just saw the first preview aired on ABC during the Barbara Walter's special. There was a PREVIEW for "The Lion King: Simba's Pride"... no animation from the movie yet, just voice-overs of previous used material from the first film to advertise it... but it was EXCITING!!! OK, let the rumors REALLY begin to fly now... but it did say "October 1998". And if Disney's own television station advertises it on the same night as the Oscars, then we know something must be up, right? :)

None of the characters you know, and love, leave. This story is a contunuation, and is more about Simba's daughter, and Simba's coming to terms with her growing up.
Zazu is hardly in it, but Timon and Pumbaa are back in fine form. (Originally they were supposed to be going "Around the World". ie the TV Series.
Sarabi must be on vacation, since she isn't in it, and the Hyenas are off somewhere else too. There are 5 new main characters introduced, Simba's daughter, Kovu, the villianess, and her 2 offsiders. And of course, Scar's pride.
Oh, and with that cub being Scar's, I don't think it is. Why would Scar, even with his evil, twisted mind, send the mother of his child out to hunt? even in a time like that?
Oh, well. I do have a very small number of small pictures of the new cubs in the Lion King 2, but my computer is doing odd things right now and won't let me open them or send them anywhere. When they work, I'll let you know. 'Bye!
