2005
- "You look like you need a cheeseburger."
(13 Mar) At long last, Salem -- now calling himself Thomas Grey --
returns. He reveals what he's been up to, and why he looks like hell.
- "Give a Galliard a chance." (14 Mar)
Natalie fills Grey in on everything that's happened since he left and
shakes him (not literally) to make information come out. Later,
he deals (a bit unwillingly) with people outside of tribe.
- "...the Rusty Pliers of Conversation..."
(15 Mar) Natalie pokes verbally at Grey s'more. Another meeting with
the new cub and doing some teaching. Then a meeting with Alicia in the
other half of the safehouse and learning that he's not the only one
who's been a bad boy. Then a gloomy little scene with Rina.
- "Now we just have to decide who's
getting shot." (16 Mar) How to get shot -- something every Glass
Walker should know. Later that night, Natalie again pokes Grey
verbally. Poke poke. Grey is resistant.
- "AUGH!" (17 Mar) A half-serious
(and somewhat amusing) paged exchange with Buttercup. Grey's nightmares
don't always run in this vein. Usually, they're worse.
- "You can't exactly throat the ancestor
if it proves to be stubborn." (17 Mar) Thomas and Jeremy separately
figure out what those notes in Danish say, the ones that the cub's been
leaving, and an attempt is made to coax out the ancestor spirit. Late
that evening, Rina stops by and tries to enact an ages-old Patrick's
Day tradition... only it's his auspice moon and waxing. It's so much
easier to be a martyr when you can hide behind being sensible.
- "Teamwork is only valid until it becomes
a liability." (18 Mar) Alicia, Signe, and Grey head down to
Shadow's End to pick up Lucas. Complications ensue when Jarred
protests, and the situation quickly turns violent.
- "He held his own pretty damn well."
(19 Mar) Grey tells Natalie about the fight last evening, and then she
tries to get advice on how to deal with disgruntled kinfolk.
- "...this half-moon's hashish is of
the best quality." (20 Mar) When hypnotic screensavers fail, the
Glass Walkers resort to other means of calling out Kevin's ancestor.
(And it wasn't Grey's pot, it
was something Scratch had
left.) Afterward, Natalie and Grey spar. For all of 15 seconds.
- "It didn't go well." (20 Mar) Grey
still owes Signe a favor, but first he has to tell her about his
current status. Later, at the safehouse, Natalie gets pushy.
- "Nothing goes beyond these walls, or my ears."
(21 Mar) Next day. Grey makes his choice, and talks. But not about himself. Ha!
- "...a little bit wolf, a little bit human, and not really either."
(22 Mar) Kevin gets drilled in Mother's Tongue and taught about the parts of a Moot. Natalie gets
upset over some snail-mail. Emma talks about White Bear and gets huffy.
- ~Come brothers and
sisters of the Hidden Walk, tonight we gather under the moon!~ (23 Mar) Sept-wide Moot.
After, Natalie and Grey share that drink he proposed.
- "Everyone was distracted..."(23/24 Mar) After Natalie goes to bed, Grey stays up, finishes off over half of that bottle of vodka, and tries to call Rina up. Since he can't go visit her. Alas, she's not in.
- "Breakfast. Eggs, toast. Et cetera." (24 Mar) Morning after. Grey drinks a Hangover Cure, courtesy of Natalie, and the pair find a filthy Gnawer on their side of the house. Horrors!
- "Now. I'm going to give you this, but..." (25 Mar) Joey meets Grey. And nobody gets hurt.
- "Have you heard from Rina?" (27 Mar) Rina's gotten herself committed to the bad hospital. Here, in the middle of a harsh and sleepless weekend, Grey deals with people who are interested in her fate.
- "Just help me get outta here, soon? (28 Mar) Visting Rina at the hospital. The good one.
- "What's up with Rina?" (29 Mar) Natalie may not get along with headstrong female kinfolk, but family's family. Talking to Grey.
- "Is there... any time someone could pick me up today?" (30 Mar) After a period of observation, Rina gets to go home from the hospital. Grey picks her up, takes her home, then stays for tea. Roles are reversed.
- "Think like a Ragabash." (30 Mar) Kevin learns a few brawling tricks from the former Ahroun. Later that night, our half-blind Judge ventures onto the Bawn and meets Stacey, the littlest Coggie.
- "...to stretch your legs." (31 Mar) Natalie drags Grey out to the sticks to help her look for Layne. But first, a Gnawer who isn't housebroken pisses people off.
- "I'm a little surprised to see a Guardian at our doorstep." (1 Apr) Jacinta stops by the safehouse and has an awkwardly polite discussion with Grey that almost turns ugly.
- "How are you with the Litany?" (3 Apr) A little teaching -- Glades, Mother's Tongue, and Foolishness.
- "YOU COULD WIN A BRAND NEW CUB!" (5 Apr) A roachly kinfetch leads Natalie, Grey, and Jon to a new member of the family.
- "Perfect line." (6 Apr) Telling Megan. Ouch.
- "Everybody gets to vacation in stupid-land." (7 Apr) Natalie pokes the Philodox to find out why he's suddenly gotten so... subdued. Afterwards, he goes downstairs to visit "his" cub.
- "Where did you get the toothbrush?" (8 Apr) Cy's a resourceful little imp. And violent.
- "Fascinating, aren't they?" (9 Apr) Cy likes cockroaches. Brom offers an invitation. Rina's... moving?
- "You sent them after me." (10 Apr) Rina (with Grey to play escort and bodyguard) visits Cy. Cy gets a new toothbrush.
- "You have any plans tonight, Thomas?" (11 Apr) Mini-moot at the safehouse. Grey acts anti-social and grumpy.
- "You got mail." (12 Apr) A box arrives in the post. From South Carolina.
- "I have come to speak with you, Thomas." (14 Apr) Jacinta returns to the safehouse.
- NoNoNoNoNO NO! OUT! STUCK! (15 Apr) Cy breaks.
- "I'll begin with a story." (16 Apr) Morning after. Grey cooks breakfast and gets long-winded.
- "You can tell her t'quit being so bossy." (19 Apr) Grey talks to Natalie about the Jacinta issue, then teaches the Litany to Cy.
- "...a valued member to attempt to enlist." (22 Apr) Jervis comes by with a pack offer.
- "Kel said th'cops got'cha." (23 Apr) Brom comes over to talk about the attack on the evil Animal Farm. Then, in the dead of night, Cy makes her escape.
- "I think I'm calm enough to discuss her." (25 Apr) Telling Natalie about Cy's escape, figuring out punishment, a lesson in shifting and fighting.
- "At worst, people might die." (26 Apr) Some advice for a nervous Ragabash cub nearly turns fatal. Full moons are a bitch.
- "Jeren Harper, Cliath Ragabash of the Glasswalkers." (27 Apr) Meeting the new arrival.
- "So he provoked you, or, you just lost it on him?" (28 Apr) Emma stops by to see Kevin and gets to talk to Grey instead.
- "She says you're nice." (30 Apr) Just another day in what's turning out to be the Week from Hell. Jeren puts her foot in her mouth not once but twice, Signe says unpleasant things, Jeremy gets way twitchy, and Grey ends up burning what little willpower he'd managed to recover yesterday.
- "Does 'submit to those of higher station' mean 'act like a pussy and take it up the ass'?" (2 May) An attempt at teaching the Creeds to Cy goes a little sour.
- "First, find him. Bring him home." (3 May) Discussing what to do about Jeremy, who's been acting erratic lately.
- "Nervous as fuck." (5 May) Dedicating shoes for Cy, running four-legs on the Bawn, then attending the Philodox Moot.
- "Sage, your--your four o'clock is here." (6 May) In which a well-meaning gift from a tribemate turns to poison. When the foundations of long-held beliefs shift, even the sturdiest buildings can fall.
- "No. But he smelled like a liquor store." (8 May) Grey leaves for work Friday morning... and doesn't come home until Sunday evening. Weekend-long bender, looks like.
- "...Babysitter. Fine." (9 May) Monday evening. Jeren wakes Grey, who's been (more or less) hiding in his room since he got home last night, and the Philodox makes a reluctant appearance -- meeting Dominic and Masao.
- "What the hell are you doing?" (10 May) Tuesday afternoon. Natalie's had enough of Grey's hermitting and storms into his room.
- "--Damn, Thomas, what's gotten into you?" (11 May) Wednesday. Natalie looks up riddles, pokes at a very uncharacteristically meek ex-Ahroun. A gloomy chat with Cy.
- "Does warform cure hiccups?" (12 May) Grey comes home early from work, finds a tribe-convention in the kitchen, decides to use the computers instead.
- "It tastes like shit." (13 May) Grey runs into Jeren at the pool hall, advises her on drinking to get drunk, then grunts a lot while she talks.
- "I am to determine a significant weakness of your Tribe..." (15 May) Cy and Grey talk about gardening, and then Jacinta stops by to get help for her Challenge.
- "Fuck. Oughta have an 'elder alert' alarm or something." (16 May) Megan stops by to meet Jeren.
- "Grandmother. Suck eggs." (17 May) The latest mage development prompts a near repeat of last full moon's computer-room-trashing.
- "Do you know what the difference is, between a dog and a wolf?" (18 May) Natalie goes to check on Grey, who's been down in the basement since yesterday.
- "Hi, guys. Nice night shooting..." (19 May) Kevin gets another lesson in how to take a bullet. Later, Grey, who hasn't gotten anything like a proper night's sleep since the new moon, gives in and asks Natalie about a certain fetish.
- "Sranje!" (20 May) Rested but far from 'fixed', Grey goes prowling into the park. He runs into a drugged-out Rina and a weird three-legged wolfdog.
- "Morphine not good enough anymore?" (21 May) Grey phones up Rina the next day.
- "She says there was a bane tainting Jeremy." (22 May) Jeren passes along some bad news, Cy learns the rest of the Creeds, Kevin gets pissy, and Jacinta drops by to visit.
- "I messed up again." (23 May) Kevin is pissy s'more. Jeren and Grey have a stilted conversation.
- ~...for tonight, we moot!~ (24 May) Sept Moot. Grey still doesn't want to be there and pretty much keeps his head down.
- "I will be leading a war party to clean out whatever else hides in the webs of your kin's apartment's shadow." (26 May) Another visit from Jacinta.
- "Washington doesn't do anything by halves..." (27 May) Jeren and Grey have an unusual encounter on Bridge Street. (Charlie's GarouMUSH ONS!)
- "Is this your idea of a joke?" (30 May) Grey accuses Kevin of being the mastermind behind a really tasteless prank and gets very, very angry.
- "I need a damn dayplanner to keep track of all the crap." (31 May) Natalie, Jeren, and Grey discuss yesterday's incident.
- "Y'know, I thought you were dead." (4 June) Kevin mopes about his birthday to Jeren. Kaz brings donuts! A reunion of sorts.
- "I mean, the unexpressed Rage all by itself..." (8 June) Another Kaz visit. Grey and Jeren catch the newsGnawer up on current events. Rina stops by, and things are Awkward(tm) between her and Grey.
- "I'm the one who owes you, and I oughta act like it." (10 June) More awkwardness between Grey and Rina.
- "When -don't- we have a problem?" (13 June) Grey gives over most of his pay for the month and cooks dinner. The man's well-trained. Natalie announces a vacation.
- "I even used fabric softener. Ain't I good?" (17 June) A snooty Shadow Lord kin stops by. Fortunately, Kaz is there to run interference while Grey cooks chili. Rina stops by for Yet More Awkwardness(tm)!
- "I've got a plan..." (19 June) Kevin comes to Grey to talk about his RoP and his plans for afterward.
- "I thought I knew myself." (22 June) Grey, drunk, opens up to Rina.

- "You're already in the shitter with these people, and you want to bring as your witness and defender a former Shadow Lord, a Renunciate, and a known /charach/?" (4 July) Happy Independence Day!
- ~Mother Gaia! Hear us howl!~ (7 July) Gathering for the Departed for Jana, Erika, and Tobin.

- "My name is Nikolai Petrov." (24 Aug) A rare night when Grey decides to visit the Bawn. Meeting a new arrival, then getting asked for a favor by Tamara.
- "Still young. Plenty of time." (25 Aug) The farmhouse. No Tamara or Basil, but a chat with Stacey.
- "Though I've not /just/ been 'hanging around here'." (26 Aug) Talking with Natalie and Kevin. Bristling between Kevin and Grey.
- ~...a good fight.~ (26 Aug, later) Another visit to the farmhouse to witness the latter half of a friendly brawl, and to talk to Tamara some more about Basil.
- "Can you move your legs at all, Charach?" (26 Aug, later still) The evening takes a turn for the worst. In fact, it turns downright horrible, in Grey's opinion.
