10/16/06 -- The Nerve Center -- In the dim, quiet "brain" of the prison, the armored figure of Coil lies at the center of a tangled web of wires, motionless, her consciousness riding the nervous system of Ryker's Island. Keeping her company are Rine and Red Lotus. Outside the door are a pair of extremely bored Ock-henchmen in their purple tactical gear and special headgear, both of them trying not to look at the harvester's blood tank -- an ugly, heavy device of the Anachronism's, about the size of two oil drums on top of each other. Nestled within the the maze of technology is Octavius' infamous darklight generator, an intricate creation of gems, wires, and circuits, all arranged and locked down according to the specific designs of the cracked genius. Suddenly, in a flash of light and with a distinctive *blink!* sound, costumed heroes appear. Every one of them is wearing goggles and is, quite clearly, able to see. The Sinister Seven's best advantage is an advantage no more; so much for Octavius' claim that the heroes wouldn't be able to copy his technology. The sudden arrival draws the attentions of all. The white armor swirled in wires that is called 'Coil' rouses from a strange sort of Stasis, The electrical cables rising from around the female like snakes as they relinquish their hold on the armor and begin to form a harsh cracking wall of electrical cords infront of the technokinetic like an oversized sparking towershield. At the appearance of the heroes and their gear, Red Lotus points a hand at the harvester's blood tank. As the "water" level drops in the tank, long, obsidian claws grow out of the woman's fingers and she jumps at the nearest target, which happens to be The Thing. The level in the tank drops again as the woman mutters a spell to increase her own agility. Claws swipe, Lotus attempting to flip and dodge whatever the big guy throws at her, although she does try to press the attack as well. Rine quickly takes note of the arrival of the various goodies. So many targets, so little time. She quickly reaches beneath her coat, and pulls forth the retracted staff, tapping a small hidden button causing it to telescope to its full length. She goes for Spidey and his girlfriend, disappearing from the scene momentarily and reentering reality behind the duo, and swings the staff at their ankles, trying to take them down. The Black Cat, along with Spidey, finds herself 'ported' into the complex, the goggles provided to her to deal with the complex's dark sphere already on and ready for use.. She takes a low center of gravity, making herself ready to move as she looks over to the webhead. "Ready when you are, Spider.." Johnny blinks from behind his goggles as he takes in the sight before him. But the quips are gone for the moment as he springs into action, seeing the large tangle of wires "Flame on!" First thing's first. Sever the connection. He quickly starts flying towards the wires. Lady Liberty took a quick moment to mentally chat up her old, one eyed buddy, before gathering around Blink to be teleported into the battle. Her mind has already tapped into the others, setting up a mental link between everyone for silent, and easy communication. Her feet hover a few good feet above the ground as she sets up a teke bubble of protection around herself until she can gauge the situation. The Thing had no troubles with teleportation. He knows that there's going to be fighting, and lots of it, so it just wouldn't be The Thing to go into a place where he knows he's going to have to throw some clenched fists if he didn't say his favorite catch phrase. "It's clobberin' time.." Spiderman, upon blinking in, looks around. "Well, looks like there's a party. And we're not invited." He looks to his companions, "I think we should feel insulted." As Reed is brought in with the rest of B Team, he looks around, making sure his goggles work... which, of course, they do. All righty! "Let's do this." With that, Reed's quick to spring into action with the rest of his superheroes with a bit of a yell, toward Rine... seemingly intent on wrapping the villain. Ironman watches the initial incurions the moment they transport into the area, as the Torch heads to Coil his helmet outfitted with the special dark filter, locks onto all targets "Enough with the witty banter people, we have a job to do. " it's his way, he's all business when it comes to this "Take them out fast and hard, and knock out all the sensors." he targets Lotus with a repulsor as it begins to well with energy, she'll be his first target "Go!" And with that said he fires. Wires sear, and melt with proximity alone as the torch approaches destroying the quickly woven shield of wires. Unlike her Collegues Coil does not strike, out in any way against the human torch or anyone else. The security console that the white armor stands before begins peeling itself off the wall and fuitiley trying to make another shield with the metal and cords. Rine is nowhere near her. Tendrils snake out of the arms of the armor and flow like tentacles up before Coil defensively, as the 7ft tall white armor hunches down into an odd spikey sort of ball, "Don't hurt me! Just...just get me out of here! Please! This is my chance to get out." The words spill from Coil's mouth in one long quick string. Rine luckly isn't noticed by the stretch man, as she's quick on her feet. She strikes out at the spider and cat. Offering no banter herself, or monologue, she gets strait to business. Spidey easily dodges the strike, but Cat, not having precognition, gets an anckle full. Rine gives a quick smirk, as the two atleast get wet. She then 'ports again, to the side of cat, and moves to smash downward with a heavy strike. Ignoring the narrowly dodged repulsor from Iron Man, Red Lotus seems a little more concerned with the fact that her claws are all but ineffectual against The Thing's hide. She attempts to use his massive form as leverage to flip off and away from him, back towards the harvester. But, she doesn't use the blood waiting there for her, her claws cut through her own skin, deep wounds appearing on her arms without so much as a flinch from the woman. The blood pools along the wounds as the start to close, but soon dissipates as she mutters to herself. Then, from her hands, two streaks of scarlet light shoot out toward The Thing. Perhaps energy blasts will work where physical attacks did not. The_Black_Cat, ever on her toes, is unfortunately still a little too off to avoid Rine's surprise attack. She goes to leap up, but part of her leg still gets caught by the staff.. It appears that whatever harm it caused is superficial, though she finds herself having to roll rather than make a more acrobatic means of putting some distance between herself and Rine. Rolling out of it, she draws back to her feet and pivots into a turn, seeing that she's become the target that Rine's focusing on. This time she looks ready at least. "That's as lucky as you get!" The effort is made to avoid the oncoming blow from her staff. Depending on how successful her endeavor is, she'll be quick to respond with leap and a swinging kick aimed for the side of her head. Obviously she's not in the mood to draw this fight out, looking to score the knock out.. Of course, she just hopes that her reflexes are faster than Rine's, less she end up hitting nothing but air herself. Lady Liberty lifts higher from the ground, eyes closed as she mentally searches the room to ensure that there's nobody hiding around here that will jump out of the woodworks. Hearing Coil's words, her mind quickly begins to filter through the other woman's. The fright there earns the girl atleast some pity from the Red, White and Blue clad female. <> Her mental voice orders. <> She allows the others of her group to hear her statement so they won't yet attack her. For some reasons the sparklies from the wall of electrical wire does not phase the Torch. Perhaps it is because he's flying quickly enough that he's not going to be stopping on a dime. Might as well keep going. However, he does slow his approach down a little as the first impromptu barrier fails to keep him away. Yes, it's good to be the Human Torch. With the new barrier being made, plus the girl's words, Johnny stops, looking at the masculine looking armor that the feminine voice came out of. Aw man, he was hoping for a LITTLE conflict. He sighs and moves towards Coil to at least weld the arms of the armor to the legs. Sure she may say she doesn't want to fight, but why take the chance of a random attack? She DID help in the killings of a lot of people after all. The Thing is a bit surprised at the sudden attack from Red Lotus, but unfortunately, the claws aren't quite enough to pierce that thick, orange, rocky hide. "Good try, kid." Yeah, at that point, his worry is more or less gone.. 'til those energy blasts head in his direction. He hunkers down, puts arms up infront of himself to intercept the beam. Getting out of the way? Too much trouble. May as well make his way closer to the girl while still on the defensive, and close some distance between himself and the generator. "Why not try that claw trick again? Got a fist with your name on it.." Ironman curses inwardly as the blast misses, but then again he wasn't exactly sure what he'd be dealing with when it came to Coil or Lotus, but he's happy to see she can't damage the Thing. His boot-jets lift him up off the floor to give him a better vantage point, just shy of the ceiling "Alright then, let's try it this way Lotus.." he calls out and while she's busy trying to blast the Thing, he primes the Uni-beam, mounted on his chest blasting it in a wide arc attack, right at Lotus, covering a conical area, so regardless of whether she jumps right or left, she can't avoid the blast or the incoming Thing. "Take her down Ben!" the blast is concussive in nature, meant to flatten her like a pancake and keep her down. Spider-Man leaps away, instinctivly, as his Spider-sense goes off. "We made a friend, Cat," he says, firing off a web or two in hopes of catching Rine before he gets another chance to attack. Of course, she then teleports away, webs ineffectually hitting the ground. Red Lotus does, in fact, try to dodge the The Thing with a rather impressive and artful, given the flow of her saree behind her, leap to one side. Sadly, whether or not this would have actually gotten her out of The Thing's reach, Iron Man's beam knocks her down flat. And, as she doesn't seem to be moving to get back up, looks like she's out for the count. Coil nods looking up at the torch through her visored gaze, as he reaches out to begin trying to weld her arms, whatever the coating on it, the armor is far less compliant to melting and fusing together than one would expect, but this is for naught. Just as the girl makes her thoughts on the matter of a mental sleep clear with awknowledged compliance and a strange sort of relief, the descision is taken out of her hands. Rine stops midswing when she hears Coil's becon for help. She instinctively teleports over to the girl, and touches her, porting back to the main land. It was a matter of miliseconds, so she regretably dodged Cats kick, and was about to head back and help out more, but decides it best to run for now. She looks down to Coil, "You got somewhere planned to hide out?" "They have no reason to have so much as a clue who I am, I have a safe place to go." Lady Liberty catches, a moment too late the Rine's train of thought, and curses herself as Rine moves quickly out of her range. But hey, she can always find that girl later. She knows her mental fingerprint now. "I will find the two later. For now, I'm going to check for the survivers and get them saefly out of here." Ironman relays all the data from the battle, back to his computers at the Tower, the other two may have gotten away, but it's only a temporary reprieve, he will find them, they're not going to stay free. As he looks at the fallen Lotus he uses his internal radio to call in SHIELD "We're turning off the device, have your men ready to enter and take out any random convicts." he let's Ben do the honors as he joins Syran as she heads to assist and protect the hostages. Okay, The Torch was not expecting Rine to appear over where Coil was, nor was he expecting Coil to be teleported out. Flare disappearing back to the rest of his flamey goodness, The Torch frowns, "They didn't even say goodbye." He shrugs it off and glances over to the small group dealing with Red Lotus, "Need help?" "Well, I thought we might, but it looks like she's out of commission. Make sure she's out, Johnny, while I go show our friend the generator a good clobberin'." If he had sleeves to roll up, The Thing would have rolled them up. Instead, he's content with pounding a clenched fist into an open hand as he steps towards the generator, now that there's very little between him and it. "Ben, wait!" Mr. Fantastic stretches out a hand to intercept his rockheaded team-mate. He reaches the device before the Thing and starts working quickly at the odd, intricate object, making minute adjustments and unhooking one cunningly hidden wire. Having disabled the boobytrap Octavius set, he then steps back and gestures. "/Now/ you can smash it." And thus Thing does, with great relish. A high-pitched keening sound echoes from the black sphere that's enveloped Ryker's Island for three weeks, setting off car alarms within a three mile radius and making dogs howl. Then, with an eye-searing twist of impossible light, it blinks out, and the prison is, once again, revealed. [[Afterward, as Spider-Man and the Black Cat race off to apprehend Doctor Octopus, the rest of the heroes join the X-Men and SHIELD in mopping-up duties. Though Rine and Coil seem to have escaped, Coil's secret identity was outed by Octavius to Ironman days before the attack, and Syran took note of Rine's mental fingerprint. Their days of freedom may be numbered.]]
