Timon was walking by the river when he saw an odd sight. Simba was standind in the middle of the river with his mouth open. "Hey, Simba," Timon yelled. "What ya doin' ?" Simba turned his head. "Hi Timon," Simba replied. "I remember Zazu telling me how he saw fish jumping out this river. I thought I could catch one of those fish. "That is something I like to see," Timon responded. He padded the top of his head, indicating an idea he got in his meerkat head. Simba made his way to the shore. When he reached it Timon grabbed Simba's mane and climed on his head. Lying on Simba' mane, Timon reoriented himself so that he and Simba would share the same vision. Then Simba returned to his original spot in the river. It wasn't long until a fish jumped out of the river. The fish flew over his head. "Miss that one," Simba said. "Maybe I'll have better luck with the next one, right Timon?" There was no response. Simba felt the two tugs on his mane become tighter. Something was slapping Simba on the head. Timon was in trouble! "Hang on Timon," Simba shouted. He headed to shore. "Okay, you can let go," Simba told Timon. Then he saw the sight. Timon was rolling about with the fish on top of his head flopping around. How was Simba to free his friend from the fish's mouth? Simba thought about biting the fish' s body off - at least it would give Timon some air. No, he couldn't do that - he might bite the top of Timon's head off. Then Simba thought about grabbing the fish by the tail and shaking it up and down until Timon flew free. Simba couldn't do that - he felt that would be too traumatic on his friend. Then Simba decided on the course of action he would take. He maneuvered Timon so that he would be lying on his back. With his left paw Simba would hold Timon steady. Simba worked his right first claw into the fish's mouth. Using the claw like a knife he made a cut about half an inch into the fish's lower jaw. Then he repeated the procedure until the cut was an inch long. At last, Simba grabbed the fish's tail in his mouth and pulled it off Timon's head. Now, Timon wasn't breathing. "Don't do this me," Simba said. Using his first claw again he worked Timon's mouth open. Simba placed his mouth over Timon's muzzle. He placed his tounge over Timon's nostrils and blew gentle breaths into his body. Timon started to come around. "You're all right," Simba sighed. "This was all my fault." "First, everything goes black," Timon started, "then you're kissing me. What will people say?" "I wasn't kissing you," Simba started, "I was just..." "Simba! How could you," Nala cried. She seen the whole resuscitation episode and reached the wrong conclusion. She then ran away. "No, Nala," Simba cried. "Come back!" Simba then grabbed the fish and ran after Nala. He finally caught up with her and cut her off. Simba dropped the fish in front of Nala. "Please listen to me," Simba begged. "I wanted to catch a fish and Timon wanted to see me do it. So he was laying on top of my head, watching. Then this fish jumps out of the river, flies over my head and latches onto Timon's head. By the time I got the fish off Timon wasn't breathing so I did mouth to mouth resuscitation - That's all it was. Do you believe me?" "Yes," Nala responded, "I don't think you could make up such a fish story in a hundred years." THE END
