Subject: "Circle of Wives" Date: Tue, 07 Apr 1998 21:20:16 -0500 From: Rindimo Reply-To: TLK-L@lionking.org Organization: L.O.S.T.-- C.A.U.S.E To: tlk-l@lionking.org I was doing a little reading up on lions... and suddenly rememberred a little something me and a friend had come up a long time ago. We were joking about simba only got one nice talk with his dad in the day, and a scolding at night, and that was it, according to the movie's viewpoint. So naturally, we start thinking up all sorts of stuff that Disney was forced to "cut out" of the movie... I mean, come on! Just one father and son talk, and it's off to the jungle with you? Anyway, here's the best one that we came up with. It actually goes along with how the critters really live out there on the savannah. =) Don't worry, there's no real adult content. I wouldn't let my mind sink that low in the gutter... I mean, I still haven't figured how to get theses floaty wings off my arms... ;) Oh, btw, I spruced it up a bit, being I'd forgotten most of the details, and hindsight tells me it needed it, anyway. "The Circle of Wives and Other Talks Disney Left Out" They said THAT about me?! Yes, sire, I'm afraid so. So what'd you tell them? I told the hyenas they could stick it up their- woops! uh oh, sire! Future heir at ten o'clock! Huh? Oh. Simba, what're you doing out here? I had a question that mom says you have the best answer to. I do? I mean, OF COURSE I DO. So, what do you want to ask? Well, you told me about what happens with us and the grass, a long time after we eat the antelope... But what about a couple /days/ after? Simba! I don't see why your mother couldn't answer /that/ one. Oh, she already did. She just told me to tell you, 'cause she thought it was cute. And, It was her turn to give Nala a bath. Is that the only reason you're here? Naw, this one is the one mom said you'd be the best at explainin'. Really? How did she say it? Huh? telling you to ask me. How did she say it? I mean, say exactly what she told you, exactly the way she said it. Oh! I see what you mean! Well, It went something like this: "Silly, I don't know everything like your father does, why don't you go ask /him/, he being all WISE and all. I'm certain he has the /best/ explanation for /his/ son." You sly feminist, you.... What, dad? Oh, Uh, I said, "Whoo, My, the morning's misty..." I don't see any. well... I was thinking about earlier this morning. So, what's this big question? How come you and Uncle Scar are the only two males around here? shouldn't there be more lions around? Here, simba, let me tell you a secret, It's what we kings call... Fringe Benefits! Huh? believe me, you'll understand when you get older. Aw, can't you tell me ANYTHING? Well... okay. YAY! Well... for one thing, after a long hard day of walking around pretending to be striving to make it look like I'm DOING something, who do you think does all the hunting? Mom and aunt Sarafina, and all the other aunts. Exactly! As king, you don't have to do any hunting at all. In fact, all the things your mother tells you you can't do- Like picking on smaller animals, or talking with your mouth full- you can do whatever you want! Aw, yeah!!! But don't let your mother know that. Everything has to be done her way. "Mufasa, stay on your side of the cave! Mufasa, why don't /YOU/ do the hunting for once? Mufasa, you should invite you brother to dinner sometimes... he's such a nice lion!" Boy! The pressures of ruling a kingdom! But don't let that bother you, Simba. Let's just keep this between us, hmmm? Okay. Alright, now you go run along... And stay out of trouble! Just 'cause Scar keeps telling you about these "cool places", doesn't mean you should go there, you hear me? Sure thing, dad. Good. I've been getting tired of saving your rump so many times, I think the next time's gonna kill me. It's just like Sarabi to keep finding ways to remind me of past arguments! She just doesn't want me to be happy, Zazu. You know? I take it someone's afraid of ending up sleeping outside tonight? Who me? How dare you think I can't manage my own household! Well, as soon as Sarabi asks Simba for your answer, I'm sure... SOMEONE's going to be sleeping somewhere e-e-else! You're right! Simba, Wait up!! Sire, wait up for me! ...And in the direction, we hear hear the echos of many lionesses start yelling Mufasa's name as a song slowly drowns them out.... It's the Circle of wives.... And they all move me, To dispair and stress, through pain and anger. If only i can get away, From their constant nagging from my circle, My circle of wi-i-i-ives. Coming, dear! Well... Now everyone knows what happens in the minds of 14/15 yr. olds. Scary, huh? -Rindimo -- The Tiger is made to kill and hunt, The Lion too, but more towards fight.
