The Dawning


Lightless ways, ever trodden
Endless journey on darkened path
Evening mists curled around
Sight hath dimmed; journey's end

Hidden now, secret future
Veiled from sight by present's blinds
Sudden hail comes anew
Unknown place, unseen face

Pleasant word, friendly greeting
Comes unasked from gentle spirit
Common bond found by both
Touching word, dark deferred

Banished now, morning's dawning
Brought anon by kindred soul
Secrets shared heart to heart
Kindled flame, despair's bane
	
Issues forth, lovers' yearning
Lifts the souls on flaming wings
Soaring on devotion
Prom'sd light, shattered night

Driven back, torn asunder
For the light of truest love
Through the tests and through trials
Falters never, lives forever.
