Mainframe Getting Blown to Bits: 2 Times

So you think you've seen it all? Think again!

Welcome to Mainframe

So you're stuck inside a computer, are you? I once knew a boy who was stuck inside a computer! His name was Enzo, Sit down and I'll tell you his story! It all started one day, in the little system of Mainframe...

The battle with the web had one horrible consequence, Bob, the guardian who defended mainframe, was shot into the web, with no possible way out, ever!!!
Everyone was pretty sad, but they got over it real quickly, and went back to work, trying to fix up the devasted city. Enzo vowed to return Bob home, so he went about planning a way to get him back. He was sitting on a rock, trying to figure out how this could be done, when suddenly, a big cube appeared over him, and inside was Bob!
"Hey Enzo!" said Bob, "It's been a while!"
Enzo looked up, "Bob! where are you? How are you talking to me?" He asked, eager to see his friend again.
"Well, Um, I'm in the web" Bob replied, "Duh!"
Enzo knew this of course, and so he quickly asked, "How can we get you back?"
Bob looked at him strangely, "Back, Why would I want to come back?" He asked, confused.
Enzo was worried, "Well, you're stuck in the web, for starters, and it must be pretty awful there!"
Bob looked at him strangely, "yeah, right, whatever!" he said. "Listen, if you want to visit, you can take that portal over there!" He pointed to a large swirling vortex, that Enzo had not payed any attention to before. "That'll take me to the web?" Asked Enzo. "Yeah, listen, I gotta go, see ya, and Stay frosty!" Bobs image shimmered, and vanished! "Alphanumeric!" Thought Enzo, he now had a way to go and get Bob back!

About ten cycles later, he was at the accelerated growth machine that he and Frisket had built in their treehouse, he climbed in, and so did Andraia, who he had invited along! The machine buzzed to life, and after a large flash, they emerged, as fully grown sprites!
"Okay, let's go!" said Enzo, in a heavy Australian accent, which he figured was a sideaffect of the process.
And so they jumped into the vortex, and after quite a bumpy ride, they arrived in the web.
"Whoa, Swanky!" remarked Enzo, regarding the intricate wood panelling on the walls, "This place is pretty nice!".
Promptly, he pulled out his large assault rifle, which he had also built, and began blasting the place apart.
When he blew a hole in one wall, he saw Bob on the other side! He ran up to him, "Quickly Bob, I've come to rescue you!" He yelled, as little swirly black things began approaching him from all directions.
"RESCUE ME?" Bob exclaimed, "Who wants to be rescued?"
Enzo looked at him, Clearly being in the web, even for such a short period of time, had given him some write errors, and he couldn't process properly. So, Enzo grabbed Bob, and picked him up, that, with guns blazing, ran back and jumped through the portal, with Andraia right behind him. As they jumped through, Andraia blasted the portal, destroying it!

They landed back in Mainframe safely, and Enzo set Bob down on the ground, and reverted back to his youger state.
"Awwww!!" said Bob, as the portal blew up behind them, "What'd you do that for Enzo? I thought that you were my friend!" Bob got up and walked home.
The repairs had been going on schedule, and all of Mainframe was completely restored to it's former glory.

Oh, GEEZ! Megabyte! That's right! man, almost forgot! whew!

Okay, Megabyte...Let's see...

Well, He has quite a big gun right, yeah, okay...Megabyte shoots that big gun, which Phong designed the software for, directly at the Principle Office. In a thunderous explosion that rivals all other large, noisy explosions, The Principle office is blown to bits. Bet you weren't Expecting that, were you?

In his apartment, Bob is still trying to get over his abduction from the web, "I can't believe that Enzo would do that to me!". Bob was still brooding when he heard the loud boom, he looked out the window at the charred remains, and decided that he had better get to work.
He went over to find Enzo, who was looking down into the pit. "Nice Job, Guardian" Said Bob, as he grabbed glitch from Enzo's arm. He looked at glitch, which appeared to be broken, "Oh, and you just COULDN'T have fixed it, could you?" Asked Bob, "Fine! I'll do it! Glitch: Repair!". Enzo looked in amazement as glitch fixed itself up really nicely, as good as new. Bob then afixed glitch to his arm, and walked off.

Bob went over to Dot's Diner, which was now fully functional. He sat down, and ordered a double density, shaken, not stirred. As he waited, he noticed the commotion going on outside, and saw Dot run in to the Diner.
"Bob, What are you doing here? I thought you were on vacation." Bob looked up, "Yeah, I was, until your little brother 'Saved Me', man, I still can't believe that he did that!"
"Yeah" Replied Dot, "He can be like that sometimes". "Well, now that you're back, we might as well go evaluate the damage to the Principle Office!"
"Okay" said Bob, and they got up and left.

At the Core, Phong was broken into many pieces, and would require several days to de-fragment. Other than that, the only casualties were about a thousand binomes. Not Bad! The Command.Com only referred to this as "Major Nullify", everyone was glad that it wasn't "Big Ol' Nasty boom that smashs lots of people", because that would have been much worse.

At that moment, a looming presence appeared over Mainframe, looking down at the two Viruses and their big gun. Suddenly, a Massive fist rocketed down from the heavens, and pulverized both Megabyte and Hexadecimal. Bet you didn't expect that either!

The citizens looked up, cheering their gratitude. Bob came over, and flew up into the sky on his new zipboard, which was finished entirely with 'Saskatchewan Seal-Skin fabric" He flew right into the face of the figure, which dwarfed the city by about 8 times!
"Thank you stranger, you really are a hero!" Bob yelled, but the figure didn't seen to notice. He simply looked around, said "Fine" and disappeared. A second later, he reappeared, and said "Oh, yeah, HERE!"
Suddenly, his face was replaced by a large purple cube, which smashed into Bob...And passed right through the bottom of Mainframe. Bob looked down, "That wasn't a game, what was that?" He looked back up, the figure was back, "I just re-formatted, time for a new style! Ciao!"

Down below, the ground became to shake violently, and suddenly, an orange sphere exploded from a point near where the cube had passed through. A voice from the sky yelled "Incoming Game...NOW!!!"

The entire city was engulfed in the sphere, which made this game pretty important. If they lost, the entire city would be nullified!
When the sprites appeared in the game, they appeared to be in some kind of town square, as they began to Reboot, they noticed that each of them was wearing colorful outfits, and many of them had umbrellas. Enzo was even riding around on a velocipede
(For those of you out there who have no idea, a velocipede is a bicycle with one very large wheel on the front!)
Bob checked his game stats, apparently, this was some kind of puzzle game. But why would they be there, there was nothing they could do to stop the user! THEY WERE DOOMED!!! Unless, of course, the user was a blithering idiot!
The User showed up at that moment, wearing a slick black outfit, and a spiffy sixties haircut! He looked around, and ran into a building, one with a large green dome. Bob layed back, and waited. Enzo on the otherhand, chased after the user, He followed him down an elevator, and into a large round chamber. The user pulled out a machine gun, and began mowing down a group of clueless round binomes that were in his way.
Enzo was shocked, "I thought this was a puzzle game!" He exclaimed to Andraia, who was there as well.
"Well, maybe you thought wrong!" Said Andraia, and she left.
Enzo continued to follow the user until he came to a large iron switch that said "EJECT" on it. The user jumped up, and pulled it.

Outside the building, Bob was suddenly yanked into a strange opening that had appeared, and he went flying through some kind of tunnel, with a very bright light at the end. He was shot out onto somekind of platform, below him was a large device, which he had never seen before, he estimated that it had about 104 smaller cube attached to it, each with an un-recognizable symbol on it.
Beside Bob, Mike the T.V. materialized, "Hi Bob!' He said, in a cheery voice.
"What's going on?" Asked Bob, "What are you doing here?"
Mike responded, "Bob, You are about to undergo a strange and wonderful journey, one from which you won't soon forget, and will change the way you look at everything for the rest of your life!"
"Cool!" said Bob.

They started to walk along the platform, until they came to a bridge. "Now, Bob,"Mike said, "You must believe in yourself to cross this bridge, otherwise you will fall to a grisley death!"
"Yeah, right, I think I'll just walk across!" Said Bob.
"Suit yourself!" Said Mike, and he disappeared, only to reappear on the other side.
Bob walked across the bridge with little trouble, and continued onto another, larger, platform.
"Now, Bob, You must achieve a state of peace with both your mind and your body, this will allow you to descend off of this platform!" Said Mike, in a very cryptic manner.
"No, I think I'll just use the ladder." Bob said, and he climbed down a large, metal grid that leaned against the platform.

At the bottom, Bob looked around, "Now what?" He said.
Mike looked directly at him, and yelled, "THIS IS ALL A DREAM!! WWOOOOO!! WAKE UP!"

Bob awoke abruptly, "What an odd dream!" He noted.

He was back in Mainframe, and everything seemed to be back to normal. Down the street, Megabyte was chasing Enzo down the street, and he had some sort of device, a device that Bob recognized as a time distorter. Suddenly, Megabyte spotted Bob, He ran up, and Yelled, "Hee hee! Now I've got you Bob!" and he zapped him with the device.
This sent Bob through a swirling vortex, similar to the one he had dreamed of. He landed on the ground, in the same place he had been before. He looked around, something was wrong, right beside Mainframe, there was another City! Bob rushed to Dot's Diner, and walked in. He was greeted by Cecil, "Greetings sir! How can I help you?" Now this was odd, Cecil was never courteous to Bob. He took a seat and ordered a large order of silicon chips, his favourite. He ate them, and looked around. There were a lot of unfamiliar faces, then he figured it out. Megabyte had sent him back in time, he was at a point before he had arrived in Mainframe! He got up, and walked over to the door, he had to be carefull not to let anyone see him, because it might interfere with the timeline. He opened the door, and slammed it into someones face! He looked, and saw that it was Enzo! Enzo looked him in the eyes, and said "With this blow, I swear to get even with society!", and he stormed off.

"Uh Oh!" Thought Bob, this is not good, he'd better get back quickly! "Glitch: Time tunnel!" A swirling portal opens, and Bob walks back though to his own time. Everything seemed fine, so he went to the diner. He walked in, and was greeted by everybody, "Hey Bob! Welcome back!' Said Enzo, "Yeah, just stay out of my way!" said Bob, still bitter at Enzo for ruining his vacation.
Bob sat down, and looked out the window, that's when he noticed it. A large guy walking through downtown Mainframe, stepping on things. "Hey, Who's that?" Yelled Bob. Dot came over and explained, "That's the user, he's just taking out his petty agrivations on us again!". Bob looked at the guy, just kicking things over, and stepping on people, Well, it wasn't that bad!

The user's new Game!

That's when the user decided to play a game, He armed himself, and started taking potshots. He zapped the sprites, who had now been turned into defenseless targets! The user obliterated everybody! Leaving a gaping hole where Mainframe used to be. Bob had managed to escape to the Net, where he happily lived for the rest of his life.

What, You've got a problem, fine! I'll tell you what happened after that!

Bob returned to Mainframe after it had been fixed up and restored from the backup, and decided it was time to get rid of Megabyte. He went over to the Tor, picked Magabyte up, and tossed him into a portal to the web, "There ya' go Megs! Have Fun!". Megabyte waved goodbye, and that's that! Megabyte is in the web!!

Bob went home for a deserved rest, but just then, a game sphere exploded, and it was game time again! Bob was pulled into the cube, along with everyone else in town!

Bob was standing in a room, with no doors or windows..."How odd" Thought Bob, He rebooted, and he became a large power tool! He looked around, and decided that there was only one solution, He drilled through the floor, and popped out into a long hallway. Enzo stood here, along with Frisket.
They got ready, and found the user, who was a small baby, sitting on the ground crying. Bob looked around, "Heh heh, Stay Frosty..." he said, as he finished off the user. "What a dumb game!" said Enzo, who was keeping his distance from Bob. Bob looked around, "Well, Mainframe is safe as long as I'm here! So now I'm going to go and take a nap!" As he was walking home, followed at a distance by Enzo, Bob said "I'm sure glad the timeline wasn't messed up, with my little romp though time! Oh, by the way Enzo, where's Andraia? I haven't seen her for a while!"
Enzo looked at him, "Who?"
Bob shrugged, oh well!

Outside, a sinister pressence loomed, the same figure who had saved Mainframe from the two viruses earlier. He looks down at the sprites, going about their business.
"Fools" He says, "They'll never realize that the user, the one who has been sending games there for minutes, the one responsible for the destruction of the city on numerous occasions, was none other than..."
