The sketches...

My drawings (fit for the net... =) )

These are all the drawings I have scanned...

I just recently updated this file (and about time too :) ) to include all the drawings I've done in the past few months. There are a lot more originals, plus quite a few of in-class doodles (I get bored a lot ;) ). I've included a short description and an approximate date drawn (each section is in chronological order so you can see some progress. :) ). Hope you enjoy them. :)

Drawings from The Secret of NIMH...

  • Here's Justin, looking shocked at Jenner's attack on Mrs. Brisby... this comes straight from the movie, and I just loved the expression on Justin's face. Summer '93.

  • This one is of Nicodemus pointing Mrs. Brisby to his diary. This is one of the only finished, inked pictures I have up. Spring '94.

  • This is Jenner coming down to attack Justin... I know this line by heart. "I've learned this much: take what you can when you can..." He looks so evil, and I never did one of Jenner before, so I figured I'd give it a shot. This drawing, actually, didn't take too much time. Fall '94.

    Drawings from Aladdin...

  • Here's Abu, looking confused... The expression on his face is cute, and reminds me of what I look like. Titled, "Huh? I don't get it!" Nov '94.

  • Another of Abu, wanting a kiss -- "Pucker up, schweetheart..." Nov. '94.

  • Here he is -- my favorite character from Aladdin; yes, Iago! I know Gilbert Gottfried does his voice and to many, he's annoying, but somehow, I love him... this is the cool one -- "I don't believe it. I just don't believe it!" Nov. '94.

    Drawings from The Lion King...

  • A partial drawing of adult Simba, sleeping in the vines... (can you tell which version of Simba I like the best? :) ) November '94.

  • LUAU! Here's Timon, dressed in drag and doin' the hula, complete with grass skirt and lei... this one's irresistable. The friend who I drew it for loved it too. :) June '95.

  • My favorite drawing of Ed... I did this one for my friend Jay because the goofy grin reminds me so much of him... plus, the right angle of his head was the silliest-looking thing. (I'm still looking for a copy of the picture of Ed chewing his leg so I can do that one.) I titled this one, "Who, me crazy? I'm not crazy!" :) Fall '95.

  • This is my favorite one of adult Simba. I love his eyes in this picture -- I got it out of a book... I titled this drawing "reflections of a king..." December'95.

  • These three go together: I did all three of these for one drawing for Scott (Simba)... here's baby Simba, with those cute, big eyes, young Simba, looking for Nala, and adult Simba, laying down... all three of these were in a circle around the name... August '96.

  • Scar and Timon that I did over Christmas break -- Timon took about five minutes, and Scar about ten. I didn't draw them this close together on purpose, but it serves -- Timon would be that scared of Scar anyway :) "Jeez, it's a lion!" This is also my very first attempt at Scar. December '96.

  • A really cute pic -- Adult Simba, licking his paw...May '97.

    Other Disney drawings...

  • Rescue Rangers, away! This is of Chip from the cartoon series Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers, and he's looking pretty happy. :) This was one of the best Disney Afternoon series, and my second favorite after Tale Spin. :) Fall '95.

  • This one's of Quasimodo looking over a ledge... From the movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame, this comes from during the song, "Out There..." Thus far, Quasi's the only one I've done from this movie... (well, he is my favorite character, after all. :) ) August '96.

    Original drawings...

  • I love this picture of Justin. I consider it one of my best... this is out of me head only; you won't find it anywhere in the movie. :) Actually, it's meant to be a drawing in my sequel. Spring '95.

  • This is a concept of what my IRC persona, Lynxcat, would look like... I've always wanted to figure that out, and one da I sat down with a picture of her namesake and just drew. So now you know what I look like when I'm pouncing someone or ripping up a sofa in my channel. :) November '96.

  • The first full-body drawing done of Temba. His name means "hope," and I got it from one of my African music CDs. He was born out of the doodles you'll see below. I ended up drawing him so much that I wanted to expand on him. He now joins the ranks of my principal original characters. I love my little lion. :) April '97.

  • Lynxcat, curled up sleeping. April '97.

  • A totally original drawing... I love this one too! Adult Simba, lying on his back. May '97.

  • One done for Ryan Mcginnis, a drawing of his character Chaka, son of Simba and Nala. Late June '97.

    Doodles done in class...

Each one of these was done during some class or other... most usually ended up taking me between one and five minutes (unless noted otherwise :) )When I get bored in class, I end up picking up the pencil I use for taking notes and just drawing. Hope you like. :)

  • A little lion that I was doodling on the inside of the cover to my Victorian Lit notebook... January '97.

  • How much do you think I loved this teacher? :) A caricature of one of my Victorian Lit prof (get this name!) Dr. Snodgrass... (oh, BTW, thanks for the grade, sir! :) )

  • I don't normally draw people often, but there was this girl sitting in front of me that I just decided to take a shot at... Victorian Lit class, January '97.

  • Kinda showed my mood for the day... a reallybored-looking kitty... she was the real definition of a doodle. Victorian Lit class, January '97. :)

  • Okay, Lion King lovers, this one I did while being bored in my Physics of Photography class. He took me five minutes, and I didn't start with any particular lion in mind, but for some reason, I felt this is who it should be when I finished with him. So check it out: this is a concept of Kisasian, son of Scar... Februaury '97.

  • Kisasian, looking upat the top of my page in Victorian Lit. February '97.

  • Done as the same day as the one directly above, this is the signature I include on my drawings. (Sometimes, it's done without the lynx face.) Victorian Lit, Februaury '97.

  • Kisasian again, looking down as if he were looking off a cliff. Victorian Lit class, again. :) February '97.

  • The updated (and ten times better!! :) ) drawing of Kisasian, done during and after Writing and Love class. He took me a while, probably about 25-30 mins. March '97.

  • One of Temba looking straight ahead... a class doodle in Physics of Phtography. He looks a little young. March '97.

  • Another of Temba, looking up with his mouth open. Victorian Lit class. :) March '97.

  • Temba looking down with a shocked, almost scared expression. Victorian Lit class, once more. March '97.

  • Temba looking sideways with kind of an "Uh... get away from me with that!" look. Victorian Lit. :) March '97.

  • Temba done in a reading packet during class discussion in -- you guessed it -- Victorian Lit. Very boring class, pain in the butt reading. Got an A though. :) And hey, it gave me time to draw. ;) The very first one where I named him. March '97.

  • Temba with an interesting expression. The last of the Victorian Lit drawings. :) March '97.

  • Temba, looking really sad (and really young!). Done during bowling practice, April '97.

  • Exactly what the filename says. :) A three-minute drawing of Adult Simba's head that came out quite nice... in my telecommunications programming class. :) May '97.

  • An attempt at doodling a real lion in my TV and Radio production class. May '97.

  • A doodle of Lynxcat looking straight at you... again in telecom programming. :) May '97.

  • Temba smiling -- this is the "practice" way I usually draw him to get faster, and this turned out good in very little time. TV and radio production class. May '97.

  • Another prof, this time for telecom programming... Walt McDowell. Telecom programming, of course. :) June '97.

  • Lynxcat, looking to the side... again, telecom programming; ya think this class needs a little entertainment? ;) June '97.

  • Another of Lynxcat, looking straight... (done in the same day as the one above this :) ) June '97.

  • Temba looking down at my notes during a particularly slow lecture in my TV and Radio production class. (Summer classes be BORING... :) ) June '97.

  • Temba grinning... this is the best head shot I've done, I think... Done while waiting for my turn to bowl in Wednesday night bowling league. (We were playing a team we hate, so it wasn't much for conversation. :) ) June '97.

  • A really good head shot of Lynxcat. Done the same night as the previous one, partly to impress someone. :) (I admit it, I was given a challenge and I took it. :) ) June '97.

  • A full body drawing of Lynxcat, looking up at something... done in TV and Radio production class, end of June '97.
