Well to answer this important question, we'll have to go back in time....Way back into the past when the Dark Ruler of Pride Rock was defeated and a certain few members of Kisasian's Pride returned home to honor the memory of they're fallen Pride member... ---------------------- SCENE I : THE LOST SON ---------------------- [FADE IN, KISASIAN'S DEN] (Finaras went to scout for food and Chisbe went into the back of the den for a nice nap. Lobomi's mind was drifting away as the silence of the dark den got to her. Suddenly she heard the evil voice of Uvoko coming from the entrance of the den.) UVOKO : Well, well, isn't this touching ? LOBOMI : What the hell are you doing here ? UVOKO : Boy, are we in a good mood today or what ? Don't worry I just want some shelter from the blazing sun. LOBOMI : Well it is a bit hot outside, come on in. But no funny business. UVOKO : Thank you. You know you can be a very beautiful creature if your not always so angry. LOBOMI : (calming down) I didn't know you can be so polite. UVOKO : I'm only polite on my good days. LOBOMI : Then this must be one great day. UVOKO : You have no idea. You know, I'm surprised that a beautiful lioness like yourself never had any children. LOBOMI : Well actually I did have children once. UVOKO : Really ? I didn't know that. LOBOMI : They moved somewhere to the north, I haven't seen them in a long while. UVOKO : Interesting. LOBOMI : Oh my God, I know what you want to do and if you think that my children are stupid enough to follow you, then you must be crazier than I thought. UVOKO : Wrong dear, I'm just smarter. (Without warning Uvoko ripped out Lobomi's throat with his claws, and her blood sprayed out on to his face. Just as it happened Finaras returned.) FINARAS : What's going on here ? (Noticing Uvoko standing over Lobomi's dead body) Oh no. UVOKO : Oh Yes. (Uvoko attacked Finaras and killed her brutally. Somewhere from behind a rock, Chisbe watched all the horror which Uvoko created. She didn't dare to move a muscle in fear of being discovered. When Uvoko finally left Chisbe started to cry out loud as she approached the bodies of her once former pride members.) CHISBE : (in tears) My God, look what that monster did to you. I will avenge you one day. I vow now that I won't say a word until that day comes when you both are avenged. (The spirits of Lobomi and Finaras watched as Chisbe made her promise.) FINARAS : Please don't do that. LOBOMI : She can't hear you. FINARAS : How can she make such a promise ? LOBOMI : She'll be fine, it is my sons that I'm worried about. I basically invited Uvoko to corrupt their minds. FINARAS : What do you mean ? LOBOMI : I gave him the location of my twin sons. FINARAS : But didn't you have third son as well ? LOBOMI : Yes, he's name is Alges. He left along with Waka and Shwele, but a week after that, I got the message that Alges had a big fight with Shwele, so he left with the queen's sister Airami and was never heard from again. (The spirit of Kisasian appeared.) KISASIAN : Come on Lobomi, let's go home. LOBOMI : My sweet Kisasian, you finally returned to me. (With that the three spirits disappeared.) [FADE TO BLACK] ---------------------- SCENE II : THE NEWBORN ---------------------- [FADE IN, BEYOND THE ELEPHANT GRAVEYARD] (Up north, beyond the elephant graveyard, the golden brown grass of autumn rustled in the cool breeze which was passing through the lands. Everything was silent in this beautiful land, until the silence was broken by a terrible roar of pain. The screams of pain was coming from a small cave inside a steep hill. A lion entered the cave with great speed, only to see a lioness laying on the ground.) LION : Airami, dear, I heard you scream. Is it time. AIRAMI : No, It was just a stupid rock from the ceiling which fell on my head. Alges, what is the day like outside ? ALGES : Very beautiful...like you. AIRAMI : I really don't want to bring our children into world while we are in this horrible place. What if the Fire God returns ? ALGES : I don't think he'll ever return. AIRAMI : He already took my sight and almost my life...I don't want him to take our cubs away. ALGES : Don't worry Rami, it is all over. AIRAMI : How do you think my sister is doing ? ALGES : Do you mean Sahar ? You haven't spoken about hear in ages, why did you bring up that strange subject ? AIRAMI : I was just thinking of how much I miss her and how I'll never see her again. ALGES : Don't let your blindness get you down. One of these days we are going to be blessed with beautiful cubs. AIRAMI : (starting to cry) I'll never see my cubs. ALGES : Don't talk like that. Remember they are part of you. In your heart you will always know what they look like. [FADE OUT] [FADE IN] (A week passed and Airami gave birth to a single lion cub. Alges entered the cave finding his wife half asleep on the ground.) ALGES : How are you doing ?...That is a stupid question, you just gave birth. You must be exhausted. AIRAMI : Say hello to your new son. ALGES : How do you know it's a boy ? AIRAMI : A mother just knows these things...Actually the mid-wife told me. ALGES : What are we going to call him ? AIRAMI : I'm going to name him after the great Water God, Orog. ALGES : Aren't taken this blindness a bit too far ? AIRAMI : I just want to make sure that the Fire God never harms him. ALGES : Fair enough. Our little Orog will always be safe with the name you have chosen. I'll leave you alone know, you probably want to sleep. AIRAMI : Don't go. ALGES : Somehow I knew you would say that. [FADE TO BLACK] A FEW MONTHS PASSES ------------------------ SCENE III : A NEW FRIEND ------------------------ [FADE IN, PRIDE ROCK] (A few miles away to the south stood the glory of Pride Rock. Two cubs came running out of the den. One has light brown pelt and the other a dark brown pelt. They both ran down the path which leads down the fortress of stone.) DARK CUB : Come on let's go. LIGHT CUB : Where are we going again Orkam ? ORKAM : We are going to my favorite hidin' place. LIGHT CUB : Cool! ORKAM : Lunge, you have to promise not tell anybody about this place. LUNGE : I won't breath a word. ORKAM : You better not, or I'll tell mom who's been terrorizin' the other cubs. LUNGE : Since you but it that way, I'll rather swear not to tell nobody about this place. ORKAM : I knew you would say that. LUNGE : Where is this place anyway ? ORKAM : Oh, just near the Western border. LUNGE : (shocked) THE WESTERN BORDER ? ORKAM : Shhh, you want everybody to hear ? LUNGE : You know we are not allowed there, especially with all the hyenas living near the Western border. ORKAM : Hey, when I meant the Western Border, I didn't mean like right next to it. LUNGE : Well that's good to know, how far is it from the Western Border then. ORKAM : What do you mean how far ? It is part of the Western Border. LUNGE : WHAT !!??? ORKAM : I'm just jerkin' you're chain, do you really think I'm that stupid ? LUNGE : Well..... ORKAM : Don't even start with me. (Orkam led Lunge to a small rock formation under a tree only a few hundred yards away from the Western border.) LUNGE : This is your great place ? (very sarcastic) Whoop-pee. ORKAM : Remember, as many things it is not what outside, but inside which counts. LUNGE : Very mystic and all, but what is the big secret. ORKAM : I'll show you. (Orkam slipped into a small hole which was broken out of the rock.) ORKAM : Come on. (Lunge followed. As he squeezed through the hole, his eyes almost jumped out when he saw the splendor of a huge cave in front of him.) LUNGE : Wow! When did you discover this place ? ORKAM : 'Bout a week ago. LUNGE : What do you think lived here before ? ORKAM : Don't know, perhaps a family of badgers or somethin'. LUNGE : Hey, you know what mom told you about talking like that. ORKAM : I don't have a problem talkin' like this. I can only speak two languages, English and Bad English. LUNGE : It is no my problem if mom finds out. ORKAM : Hey there's nothin' to it, I got it all figured out, what she doesn't know won't hurt her. LUNGE : True enough. ORKAM : We better get out of here, before mom worries 'bout us. LUNGE : Okay lead the way. (Lunge followed Orkam out of the cave. Once outside, Lunge broke the silence once again.) LUNGE : That place was absolutely cool. (Suddenly they heard a child's voice.) VOICE : What place is cool ? ORKAM : Who said that ? VOICE : I did. LUNGE : Where are you ? VOICE : Over here. (Orkam and Lunge looked around, but saw nothing.) VOICE : Hey geniuses, up here. (Orkam and Lunge looked up and saw a strange creature in the tree. The creature had a yellow pelt covered with plenty of black spots and was about the same size as Orkam and Lunge. The creature jumped of the tree. Orkam and Lunge just stared at strange creature.) CREATURE : Hey, I'm not going to bite you. You can talk you know. (After a short silence, Lunge started to speak.) LUNGE : What are you, some strange breed of cheetah or something ? CREATURE : Whoa, dumber than a rock. ORKAM : Hey, watch what you say 'bout my brother. He asked you a question. CREATURE : Why should I answer him, what are you some kind of royalty ? ORKAM : As a matter of fact, we are the Princes of the Pride Lands. CREATURE : I do apologize for my rudeness, sometimes I'm like that. LUNGE : Sure, sure, but what are you ? CREATURE : Don't tell me you never saw a leopard before. LUNGE : Actually...no. LEOPARD : Well now you've seen one, my name is Ingwe. Who are you two ? ORKAM : I'm Orkam and this is my brother Lunge. INGWE : Nice to meet you. I just realized something. LUNGE : And that is.... INGWE : ...we all have a major attitude problem. ORKAM : I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship. LUNGE : You took the words right of my mouth. INGWE : Are you going to show me this cool place or what ? ORKAM : Come on, we'll show you... [FADE TO BLACK] ---------------------- SCENE IV : THE LULLABY ---------------------- [FADE IN, LAND BEYOND ELEPHANT GRAVEYARD] (Night swept of the land, darkening everything it touches. A young cub with a dark pelt was laying wide awake in the small cave, which was engraved into a hill. Out of nowhere Airami appeared behind him.) AIRAMI : Why aren't you sleeping yet ? CUB : I was just thinking. AIRAMI : Really ? About what ? CUB : Where the darkness comes from ? AIRAMI : Orog, honey, you are asking a very difficult question. I don't know the answer, but just be lucky that you are not in eternal darkness, like I am. OROG : Please mom, don't torture yourself. You know daddy doesn't like you doing that. AIRAMI : Sorry dear, I didn't mean to upset you. Just go to sleep. OROG : I can't sleep. AIRAMI : Then let me sing to you. OROG : (excited) Sure ! AIRAMI : Before I sing this to you, you must promise me that you will always remember this lullaby. OROG : I promise. AIRAMI : Listen closely and learn. (Airami started to sing) CRAWL CLOSER TO ME THEN YOU WILL SEE NOTHING WILL HARM YOU YOU'VE GOT TO REALISE I WILL BE THERE FOREVER AND EVER I WILL CARE FOR YOU EM OT RESOLC LWARC EES LIWW UOY NEHT UOY MRAH LLIW GNIHTON (As Airami finished her song, thunder began to rumble and it started to rain.) AIRAMI : Come on let's go to bed. OROG : Yes mom...Thanks for the beautiful song, I won't forget it. Especially that last part. AIRAMI : I know dear. [FADE TO BLACK] --------------------- SCENE V : THE RUNAWAY --------------------- [FADE IN, PRIDE LAMDS] (With all the friendship which Ingwe provided, the time passed very quickly. Orkam, Lunge and Ingwe were all two and a half years old now. Orkam and Lunge's manes were almost fully grown now. They were all sitting on their favorite spot near the Western Border.) INGWE : I'm telling you, those hyenas are starting to drive my family nuts. ORKAM : Why don't just leave ? INGWE : And go where ? There is no place we can go. LUNGE : You'll think of something INGWE : So tell me, when is the big day ? LUNGE : What big day ? INGWE : Well you both told me a lot about your girls and how you love them. ORKAM : So... INGWE : ...when are you going to marry them ? LUNGE : Most likely right after their first successful hunt. ORKAM : Talk 'bout huntin' I'm starved. LUNGE : It's your turn. ORKAM : What to you mean ? I did it last time. INGWE : I beg to differ, I went hunting last time. ORKAM : Oh right, then who's turn is it ? INGWE & LUNGE : Yours ! ORKAM : Okay, what do you want for lunch ? LUNGE : How about a nice rabbit ? INGWE : Make that two. ORKAM : (sighing) As you wish YOUR MAJESTIES ! (Orkam left in search of food.) LUNGE : Hey Ingwe, now that he's gone, I want to ask you a question. INGWE : Ask away. LUNGE : As soon as we finish lunch... INGWE : (interrupting) IF we get lunch. LUNGE : (continuing)...anyway, can you make some lame excuse and just leave us alone for the rest of the day. INGWE : (disappointed) But why ? LUNGE : It's nothing like that, there is just something very important which I have to discuss with Orkam alone. You know, a brother to brother talk. INGWE : But I thought we were friends... LUNGE : Okay, you can listen. But I don't think you going to like what I'm going to say. INGWE : Hey, if Orkam can handle it, so can I. LUNGE : That's just the problem, I don't know if he can handle it. INGWE : Must be serious. LUNGE : You have no idea. (Orkam returned and as usual, empty handed.) INGWE : Where's the grub ? ORKAM : The slippery little buggers got away. LUNGE : I thought so. Hey bro, I have to discuss something with you. ORKAM : What is it this time ? LUNGE : This is very important. ORKAM : It better be. LUNGE : I'm thinking of leaving the Pride Lands. (The words pierced right through Orkam's heart.) ORKAM : You can't be serious. (Lunge didn't say a word.) INGWE : My God, he's serious. LUNGE : I just don't belong here. I just want to take Leacim and get away from here. ORKAM : But why ? LUNGE : That is something I can't answer. Please, you must understand that I just don't belong here. ORKAM : But, I don't want you to go. LUNGE : I know you love me, but I have to go on my own path. You are already heir to the throne, but I need to get a little kingdom of my own. ORKAM : But we were going to rule the Pride Lands together, as a family. INGWE : I better go, I can't take this heartbreak anymore. (Ingwe got up and disappeared.) LUNGE : I'm sorry Orkam, but I've got to follow my own heart. ORKAM : I can't stop you, all that I know is that, I'll miss you brother. LUNGE : As soon as Leacim complete's her hunt, then we are out of here. [FADE OUT] [FADE IN, PRIDE ROCK] (A week passed and Leacim finally succeeded in her first hunt. Lunge and his crew were preparing to leave Pride Rock.) WAKA : (to Leacim) Farewell my daughter, may you bring many young into this world. KIARA : (to Lunge) Farewell my son, you are a king now. Busa ngo xolo . WAKA : (to Lunge) Farewell Lunge, look after my daughter. LUNGE : I will. WAKA : Busa ngo thando KIARA : (to Leacim) Farewell Leacim, you are a queen now. Take care. (Lunge went to his brother and Leacim to her sister) ORKAM : Moshanyana weso bo' itunele . LUNGE : Of course I will. ORKAM : A question, with you going away, who's going to make my life miserable ? LUNGE : I believe you will find someone. Just think someday you will be my king and then you can make my life miserable. ORKAM : That's true. Farewell my brother. ELICHE : The time has finally come, I was under the impression that we would never separate. LEACIM : Don't worry, if you feel lonely just look into the waterhole and you will see me. ELICHE : Farewell my sister, you've been the best. LEACIM : You too. Good luck with your hunt tomorrow night. ELICHE : Thanks. (Lunge and his small pride left Pride Rock. But the sorrow did not end there as the heartbreaking news of Kiara's death broke the entire Pride Lands apart. But nobody was more heartbroken than Orkam. First his brother leaves then his mother dies. What more could happen to him ? That night the pressure got Orkam and he ran away from Pride Rock to clear his mind. He didn't stop running till he reached the elephant graveyard, where more surprises would be waiting for him...) [FADE TO BLACK] --------------------- SCENE VI : THE RESCUE --------------------- [FADE IN, LANDS BEYOND ELEPHANT GRAVEYARD] (Somewhere deep in the cave, which Airami called home, she laid dreaming in deep sleep. She dreamed of the time when she still could see. Everything was beautiful around her. The green grass, the lovely trees. Suddenly everything around her was scorched and in front of her appeared a giant fire. The she started to scream as she went blind again and all went silent as the fire started to speak.) FIRE : I've taken your eyes, now I will take your life. Including your cub. AIRAMI : NO! YOU LEAVE HIM ALONE! FIRE : Do you really think by naming him after the Water God, that he will be protected against me ? You are both mine. (Airami heard the far off voice of her son.) OROG : MOM! WAKE UP! (Airami eyes sprang open and the thick smell of smoke entered her nostrils. She felt the intense heat on her pelt and realized that she was covered with her own sweat.) AIRAMI : Orog, what's happening ? OROG : We have to get out of here ! The whole place is on fire. AIRAMI : Oh my God! Not again. Where is your father ? OROG : (starting to cry) He tried to fight off the fire, but the flames consumed him. AIRAMI : (starting to cry) No, not my dear Alges...(pulling back the tears) Orog, listen to me...get out of here while you still can. OROG : I'm not leaving you. AIRAMI : Honey, I've lived my life. There is nothing left for me here. You can't risk your own life, trying to save mine. OROG : You're coming with me. AIRAMI : No, I have to fight this battle to the end. OROG : Mom, please don't do this. AIRAMI : AS YOUR QUEEN, I ORDER YOU TO GET OUT OF HERE. (Orog started to run out of the small cave with his tears blinding him. The smoke started to pour into Orog's lungs and he finally collapsed a few yards away the cave. Meanwhile back in the cave Airami tried her best to fight off the fire.) AIRAMI : (screaming) COME ON YOU BASTARD, GIVE ME YOUR BEST SHOT. (Suddenly the fire started to speak.) FIRE : Are that eager to die ? AIRAMI : Now that my son is safe from you, I'm welcoming death. Come and get me. (The fire made its way over to Airami. She roared in pain as the flames started to hit her from every side. Back in the elephant graveyard, Orkam heard the terrible roar and he look in the direction from which it was coming. He saw smoke from over one of the gigantic skulls. He started to run at full speed towards the smoke. When he finally reached the smoke, he was welcomed by the intense heat of the fire. As he made is way past many small fires,he started to cough as the smoke started to enter is lungs and tears start to form in is eyes, which blinded him a bit. Suddenly he tripped over a something. He felt around the thick cloud of smoke and found a lion laying unconscious of the ground. He maneuvered himself under the massive lion and started to run out of the dangerous clutches of the fire...) [FADE TO BLACK] ------------------------- SCENE VII : INTRODUCTIONS ------------------------- [FADE IN, PRIDE ROCK] (Back in the den of Pride Rock, Orkam was watching over Orog as he slept. Orog finally woke up after a few hours.) OROG : Where am I ? (seeing Orkam) Who are you ? ORKAM : You are in the Pride Lands. I am Prince Orkam, I saved you from the fire. OROG : You have my eternal gratitude, but what about my parents ? ORKAM : I'm sorry to tell you this, but they didn't make it. OROG : (fighting back tears) Are you sure it was them ? ORKAM : After the fire cleared, we only found two bodies. OROG : My mothers greatest fear was the fire. Fire has been part of her whole life. First the fire took her sight away, then her life. ORKAM : My mother also died, about a two days ago. OROG : I'm sorry, what happened ? ORKAM : She was kicked by a wildebeest. OROG : That must have been awful for you. ORKAM : Yes, I still can't get over her death....I don't even know your name. OROG : Excuse my manners, my name is Orog, son of Alges and Airami. (Waka entered the den.) WAKA : I see our guest is finally awake. ORKAM : (to Orog) Orog, this is my step-father Waka. (to Waka) This is Orog, son of Alges and Airami. WAKA : (to Orog) Who were your parents ? OROG : Alges and Airami, why ? WAKA : My God, Alges...Airami... ORKAM : Do you know them ? WAKA : Airami was the sister of Eliche's mother and Alges was my brother. OROG : My God, I thought I didn't have any other relatives. WAKA : Orog, you are welcome to stay with us. OROG : I can't do that. ORKAM : You don't actually have a choice, there is nowhere to go. OROG : What the hell, I have nothing to lose anyway. WAKA : Welcome to our pride, the hunting party will soon return then you can meet them all. (to Orkam) And you, (getting angry) if you ever run away like that again, I will kick you out of these lands. (calming down) But I forgive you for running away, 'cause you found my last living relative. ORKAM : I'm sorry sir, it will never happen again. WAKA : I hear the hunting party, (to Orog) Time to meet the rest of the crew... [FADE TO BLACK] -------------------------- SCENE VIII : CALL FOR HELP -------------------------- [FADE IN, PRIDE ROCK] (A few months passed after the fire and Orog was well settled into his new home. He helped out a lot, by sometimes doing a regular border patrol to help out Waka, who is getting very old now. Orog and his Uncle were resting under a tree, while Orkam was out on border patrol.) WAKA : (to Orog) Do you like it here ? OROG : I love it here. WAKA : That's nice, 'cause your not going to like what I'm going to say. OROG : What's wrong Uncle Waka ? WAKA : I have to leave. OROG : Don't be silly. WAKA : I'm quite serious. I'm not getting younger and I want to spend my last days in my old home. OROG : You mean your going to return north. WAKA : I have to, I promised Sahar that'll die by her side. And that is exactly what I'm going to do. OROG : If that is what you have to do, then take me with you. WAKA : No, you must stay here and help out Orkam. He's going to be the new king and he is not ready yet. OROG : Okay, I'll stay. But when are you going ? WAKA : Tonight or as soon as everybody is here. (The day slowly turned into night and Waka called an assembly.) WAKA : Fellow Pride Members, it grieves me to tell you that I'm going to step down as your ruler. I have reached my time and I think it is time that moved on to a better place. I will return to me old home, where I can die in peace. Prince Orkam is the new king... LONG LIVE KING ORKAM ! ALL LIONS : LONG LIVE KING ORKAM ! (All the final farewells were said and Waka left the Pride Lands, never to return again. One month passed since Waka left the Pride Lands and Orkam and Orog came out of the den as the sun rose.) OROG : (to Orkam) I'm telling you those cubs slept like rocks. ORKAM : Yeah I know, that lullaby that you sung to them was beautiful. OROG : Thanks, my mother taught it to me. ORKAM : One thing has been bothering me... OROG : And that is ? ORKAM : Why is didn't rain after your lullaby ? OROG : I'm not THAT bad at singing. ORKAM : You mean you don't know what it means...no wonder it didn't rain. OROG : What are you talking about ? ORKAM : You know the last verse of your lullaby... OROG : What about it ? ORKAM : Don't you know what it means ? OROG : Does it mean something ? ORKAM : Of course, it is a plead to the Rain God. OROG : Come again. ORKAM : Basically with that verse, you are pleading to the Rain God to make it rain. OROG : Why didn't it rain then ? ORKAM : You didn't know what the words meant. OROG : Let's just change the subject. (Orog and Orkam started their way to the waterhole. Once again Orkam broke the silence.) ORKAM : I need a big favor from you. OROG : Ask way. ORKAM : I need you to do border patrol today. OROG : I did it yesterday. ORKAM : I'll do double shift, but it is very important that I stay home today. OROG : Okay, let's hear it. What is so important ? ORKAM : I'm going to hear from my brother today. OROG : Come on, get over it. He hasn't reported back for weeks, what makes you sure that he'll report back today ? ORKAM : I just have a feeling...that he is in trouble. OROG : Okay, I'll do it. But this is the LAST time. ORKAM : Sure. OROG : Remember, double shift, starting tomorrow. ORKAM : Don't worry. (Orog began his border patrol, walking along the borders of the Pride Lands. Check for intruders, but his mind wasn't on the job today...Thoughts and questions kept popping up in his head like "How did he talk me into doing this...again ?", "Why do I even bother staying here ?" and "Why am I talking to myself ?" finally he spoke out loud.) OROG : (to Himself) Oh boy, border patrol is so interesting. Why must I do it all the time ? Nothing ever happens. (yelling) I WISH SOMETHING WOULD HAPPEN !!! (Suddenly he heard a distant female voice.) VOICE : HEY YOU!!! OROG : (to Himself) That was quick. (Shouting) Who goes there ?! (A beautiful young lioness approached him.) LIONESS : (panicking) Please, you have to help us. OROG : My God woman, calm down. Tell me, who are you ? LIONESS : My name is Arreis, please you have to help us. OROG : Okay Arreis, let's take this step by step. Where are you from ? ARREIS : I live near the Misty Peaks. OROG : Okay, now we are getting somewhere. Why do you need help ? ARREIS : Our pride has been taken over by another male. OROG : So that happens all the time. ARREIS : You don't understand... OROG : (interrupting) You're absolutely right, I don't understand. ARREIS : Just listen, this male who took over the pride is evil, through and through. Not only did he take over our lands, but he also mistreats us. OROG : Okay, now I know why you need help, but tell me are you looking for someone in particular ? ARREIS : Yes, I am looking for Orog. OROG : Why are you searching for Orog ? ARREIS : I've heard that he was very close to the King of Pride Rock. OROG : Has anyone ever told you that you are beautiful ? ARREIS : Not actually... OROG : Well beautiful, your search is over, I am Orog. ARREIS : Believe me, it is a honor to meet you. OROG : It will be a pleasure to help you. I'll go and talk to the king right away. ARREIS : Thank you, I'll just stay here. OROG : You better, the other lionesses won't like me bringing a strange lioness into the Pride Lands. I'll be back. (Orog started his way to Pride Rock, on his way his thoughts started to wonder again.) OROG : (to Himself) I'll be back...I'll be back, what kind of corny phrase is that. If I keep on talking so stupid, I might lose that girl. And what a girl she is. (Orog reached Pride Rock just before nightfall, he found Orkam in the den, laying next to him was Eliche and Eliche....) OROG : (thinking to himself) TWO ELICHE'S ? WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE ? (to All) Somebody slap me, I think I'm seeing double. ORKAM : (getting up) No, let me explain. (pointing to one of the Eliche's) This is Leacim, Eliche's twin sister. OROG : (to Leacim) Greetings, my name is Orog. LEACIM : He is very well mannered, (looking to Orkam) Not like some other lions I know. OROG : (to Orkam) We have to speak. ORKAM : Let's go outside. (Once outside Orkam started to speak.) ORKAM : Okay, what is this all about. (Orog told Orkam about his meeting with Arreis and how her Pride was in trouble.) OROG : ...You see and that is why we need to help them as quickly as possible. ORKAM : Orog, I would love to help you, but... OROG : BUT !? These lionesses are in trouble and you are not going to help them. ORKAM : I can't. OROG : Give me one good reason why ? ORKAM : Okay, you know Leacim ? OROG : What about her ? ORKAM : She is married to my brother Lunge. OROG : So, I know that. ORKAM : Just listen, my brother is in trouble, I have to help him first. OROG : But what am I suppose to do ? ORKAM : Go to the north-western border, seek out the leopard Ingwe. He and his family will help you, just tell him I sent you. OROG : Thank you. ORKAM : You better go. We are all leaving in the mornin'. By the way, Ingwe has a little attitude problem, so don't let him get to you. OROG : But who is going to look after Pride Rock ? ORKAM : We can only hope that it will remain undisturbed till we get back. [FADE TO BLACK] --------------------------- SCENE IX : A FRIEND IN NEED --------------------------- [FADE IN, NORTH WESTERN BORDER] (Orog approached the north western border of Pride Lands, but only found a large tree and nothing else.) OROG : (to Himself) Why did I come here ? Was this some kind of sick joke ? (Suddenly Orog heard a deep male voice.) VOICE : You know talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity. OROG : Who said that ? VOICE : Up here. (Orog looked up and saw a leopard in the tree.) OROG : Your a leopard. LEOPARD : No kidding. OROG : Look, I don't have a lot of time to chit-chat. I'm looking for Ingwe. LEOPARD : Why are you looking for Ingwe ? OROG : I need some help and King Orkam said that a leopard named Ingwe would help me. LEOPARD : King Orkam you say. Well look no further, I am Ingwe. How can I assist you ? OROG : You're Ingwe, but you're so... INGWE : (interrupting) ...Young, I know. Tell me, what is your problem ? (Orog quickly summed up what happened on the eastern border.) INGWE : That's horrible...I'll make you a deal. We will help you, and if we succeed, then you must supply us with a new home. OROG : What ? INGWE : I know it is a lot to ask, but we are sick and tired of fighting the hyenas for our food. OROG : Okay, If we win, then you will stay with my new pride. How does that sound ? INGWE : Oh come on, leopards and lions, living together. You just don't get such prides. OROG : Then this will be the first. When we win, our new home will be near the Misty Peaks, so we will be called the "Pride Of The Mist". INGWE : That is all very mystic, but don't you think that we should help those lions now. OROG : Sorry, I got carried away. INGWE : I'll go and fetch the rest of my family and meet you at the eastern border. OROG : Don't take to long. [FADE TO BLACK] --------------------- SCENE X : GUESS WHO ? --------------------- [FADE IN, EASTERN BORDER] (Orog approached the eastern border, finding Arreis asleep near a rock. As he approached she awoke.) ARREIS : (looking around) Where is the help ? OROG : They will be here shortly. One thing has been bothering me, if there is only one male and so many lionesses, why don't the lionesses attack him ? ARREIS : Believe me, we tried. He is very powerful, more powerful than any lion which I have encountered. I think there is some kind of magic involved or something. (Ingwe and his family approached over the hill.) ARREIS : (confused) What is this ? OROG : The help. ARREIS : But they are leopards. OROG : I know, but the king has family problems else where and he directed me to them. ARREIS : I hope they can help. OROG : Me too. INGWE : (approaching) Sorry it took a while. (looking at Arreis) Is this the lovely lady you told me about. (Arreis blushed.) OROG : (whispering to Ingwe) WHAT ARE YOU DOING ? INGWE : (whispering back) Don't worry, the love doctor is here. (to Arreis) How can we help ? ARREIS : There is only one male, but I noticed before I left, that he started to corrupt the minds of some of the lionesses...So I need you and your family to keep them busy, but try your best not to harm them. OROG : I will take care of the male. (to Arreis) What is his name ? ARREIS : I think it is Ogoun. OROG : That's weird, he is named after the Fire God. INGWE : And you think that being named after the Water God isn't weird. OROG : Don't start, I know that Orkam said you had an attitude problem, but this is ridiculous. INGWE : I just can't help myself. ARREIS : Can we please stop this chit-chat and get going ? OROG : We better. (Arreis led them to her home lands at the base of the Misty Peaks. As they entered the land, they were ambushed by many lionesses. Arreis stepped away from the small group of leopards and joined the other lionesses.) OROG : (Confused) What the hell is going on ? (furious) I trusted you. (A lion approached.) LION : Don't blame her, she can't help it. OROG : You must Ogoun. OGOUN : The one and only. OROG : What have you done to them ? OGOUN : I just corrupted their minds, what else ? OROG : Okay, you've corrupted Arreis before she came to me, so what do you want with me ? OGOUN : I want to kill you. OROG : Try me. (The two lions collided in battle, but Orog was to fast for Ogoun and quickly tore a hole in Ogoun's side. Orog expected blood to pour from Ogoun's wounds, but instead of blood, fire came out of Ogoun's wounds. Ogoun started to laugh.) OROG : What the hell are you ? OGOUN : Let me show you. (Ogoun's body transformed into a burning fire.) OROG : Oh my God. FIRE : Exactly. The Fire God Ogoun sent me here to kill your family. OROG : What ? FIRE : You heard me. Well there is two down and one to go. OROG : It was you...You killed my parents and... FIRE : Blinded your mother. Duh!!! INGWE : (Shouting) OROG ! Do something. LIONESS : (to Ingwe) Shut up ! INGWE : (to Lioness) Make me. (The Lioness looked at the fire.) FIRE : (to Orog) Your friend has spirit...now watch him die. (to Lionesses) Kill them all! (The lionesses started to attack the leopards. All the leopards tried their best not to fatally wound the lionesses, but Ingwe accidentally killed one of them. Meanwhile the fire was still confronting Orog.) FIRE : Oh well, back to business. Do you have anything to say, before I burn you to ashes ? (Voices started to speak in Orog's mind.) AIRAMI : Don't forget our lullaby. ORKAM : Don't you know what that means ? AIRAMI : Promise me. YOUNG OROG : I Promise. (The voices disappeared.) OROG : (whispering to himself) I Promise. FIRE : Well do you have anything to say ? OROG : Yes...Yes I do. FIRE : I'm waiting. OROG : EM OT RESOLC LWARC FIRE : What are you doing ? OROG : EES LLIW UOY NEHT FIRE : Stop that ! OROG : UOY MRAH LIWW (thinking to himself) This is for you mother. (shouting) GNIHTON ! FIRE : NOOO!!! (Lighting struck one of the trees and it started to rain. The fire started to die out.) FIRE : This is far from over, Ogoun will never rest till you are dead. (The fire was totally extinguished. All the lionesses suddenly stopped attacking the leopards.) OROG : Finally, its over. ARREIS : (approaching Orog) I'm sorry I had to deceive you like that. I hope you don't hate me for it. OROG : How could I hate something as beautiful as you ? ARREIS : Is that a proposal ? OROG : Well... ARREIS : I accept. OROG : What ? ARREIS : I'll be your wife, only if you will be our king. OROG : I accept, but only if my friends stay with us. ARREIS : Deal. OROG : (to All) Come on, let's leave this depressing site and move higher into the mountains. ARREIS : Why ? OROG : To make sure that Ogoun never finds us again. (to All) From this day forward we will be known as "The Pride Of The Mist". Let's go. (The Lions and the leopards started to move higher into the mountains. Ingwe approached Orog.) INGWE : Orog, before we go on. Can I have a word with you ? OROG : Sure. (Ingwe and Orog stopped and talked.) INGWE : Orog, I can't stay with you, for I have sinned. OROG : What do you mean ? INGWE : I've killed one of those innocent lionesses. OROG : You did that out of self defense. INGWE : I know, but I can't joined your pride until the Gods have forgiven me. OROG : Where will you go ? INGWE : I don't know. But know this, I will return someday. OROG : Go in peace my friend. (Ingwe turned around and walked the other way, away from the Misty Peaks.) [FADE TO BLACK] ------------------------ SCENE XI : DISAPPEARANCE ------------------------ [FADE IN, MISTY PEAKS] (A month passed and Orog's love for Arreis started to form in her belly. Arreis started to notice this and she heard the words of the Fire in her head.) FIRE : The Fire God Ogoun sent me to kill your family. (The voice disappeared.) ARREIS : (to Herself) My God, what have we done ? I'm going to extend Orog's family and then the Fire God will come after us again. I will not allow this. (Arreis walked to Orog who was fast asleep. She started to whisper in his ear.) ARREIS : Orog, I'm sorry for what I'm about to do to you. But I have to protect our children. Please forgive me. (Arreis started to run away from her home. When Orog awoke later on, he noticed that Arreis was missing. He sent out the lionesses in search of her. A week passed and Orog was laying in his cave worrying about his wife. A lioness entered the cave.) OROG : Have you found her ? LIONESS : Sorry Your Highness, we've searched the entire peaks and there is no sign of her. OROG : Just go. (The lioness exited the den.) OROG : (shouting) NOOOOOO!!!! OH GODS ! WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN TO ME ?!!! [FADE TO BLACK] THE END. FINAL WORDS : ------------- That is the way that it happened.
