| Mufasa is Simba's
father, and the king of the Pridelands. He is also Scar's
brother. When Simba is a little cub, Mufasa tells him about the kingdom he is to inherit,
and about the Circle of Life. They are interupted by Zazu, who
tells Mufasa that there are Hyenas in the Pridelands, and Mufasa runs off to get rid of
them. Later, when Simba and Nala are trapped by the Hyenas, Mufasa comes to the rescue, chasing away the Hyenas. When they walk home, he sends Nala home with Zazu to talk with Simba alone. He is angry with Simba, but he ends up telling Simba about the great kings of the past. One day while on patrol, he is approached by Scar, who tells him about the stampede in the gorge, and that Simba is down there. He rushes in to rescue Simba and manages to put him safe on a ledge, but he is hit by a wildebeest before he can get up there himself. He manages to jump up and grap the cliffside right below Scar, but he is slipping. He asks Scar to help him, but Scar pushes him off the cliff. He falls down into the stampede and is killed by it. One day, when Simba have grown up, he appears as a ghost to guide Simba, to tell him to go back to the Pridelands, to take his place in the Circle of Life. Mufasa also speaks the last word in the movie: 'Remember...' |
