The Fennec:

Fennec (Fennecus zerda), desert-dwelling fox found in north Africa, the Sinai and Arabian Peninsulas. The fennec is characterized by its small size and weight and large ears. Mainly nocturnal, the fennec spends the heat of the day underground in its burrow. The fennec is a sociable animal and its burrows are usually made in small colonies.
