Sonnet 222 (=^..^=)  

 
(a) The air is humid, the night is black.
 
 (b) I slink through the darkness, it is my home.

 (a) Tonight I hunt, the leaves and sticks on my back.

 (b) Daylight I sleep, the sun is a dome.

 (c) Darkness. I come to a river, no fish.

 (d) The howler monkeys sing their lonely song.

 (c) Hope I get them and feast, that’s my wish.

 (d) I see fish swimming, there all along.

 (e) Hunters coming! Footfalls echo clear.

 (f) I know I must find someplace to hide.

 (e) Where? Looking around I feel only fear.

 (f) Home, the canopy is where I must abide.

 (g)   There I, the ocelot will keep.

 (g)   Even the poachers can’t see me sleep
