Some interests that I have when I'm not working

Computer Programing (saying that's what my diploma says...):

I have dabbled in my times in the following languages:

I mainly use PHP, Perl, and SQL in my current job. If you can stand it...this is the site I work on. Just don't give the puppy your email address...and you should be fine. :)

Another site I work on is for the Mephit Fur Meet where I'm the programmer and head of registration.

Computers and the Internet

Using 'state of the art' technology, I waste what little free time I have. The computer that I prefer to waste my time on is a AMD K-62 300 with 64MB of RAM. Teamed up with a 10GB HD, I have plenty of room for the toys I have. I'm connected to the net using the @Home service through Intermedia, which propels me through the depth of cyberspace.

Weather and Meteorology

Before I finally decided that I wanted to get into computer programing, I was at Lyndon State College in the Meteorology department. What made me decide to change my major was that I hit a brick wall when I started to take the theory meteorology courses, which include a LOT of math. My hope is that maybe I can get a computer job with a weather company where I can put both of my interests to good use.

Hockey

While I have always had a passing interest in the sport, my interest really got big with the addition of the 27th team in the National Hockey League, the Nashville Predators, who play in the beautiful Nashville Arena. The character on the left of the picture above is the mascot of the team, and I got to pose with him while watching the second game of the '99 Stanley Cup between Dallas and Bufallo (Bufallo was robbed, BTW). While we are probably a few years away from making a real impact in the playoffs, I'm hoping that I can be there when they do finally lift the Cup over their head.

Furry

This is probably my biggest interest...and boy is it a strange one for most people to accept. I'm not sure how to explain it myself really...something I've always felt inside of me. I've always been interested in animals...and I can remember times in my youth that I really wanted to become an animal. My first recollection of this was with raccoons back when I was in elementary school. I loved Ranger Rick and the raccoon in the cartoon 'Shirt Tails'. I settled on a lion after I saw the Lionking back in '94 and fell into the furry community. I'm not sure exactly what part a lion plays in my life...maybe it's just a fancy I have...maybe it's an inner spirt...and spirt guild, per se.
