Boy... what a drive to get to Philly...it took over 17 hours, and I learned that most Furs do NOT know how to drive a stick shift! Thanks alot, Fred Puma, for filling in for me in my car. I guess I'll teach a few Furs how to drive a manual by next year, just to be safe. I got a whole 22 minutes of sleep those first days that we were there, but I didn't care...I was having a great time. This was MissyCat's first con (of any kind) and, although she had a hard time trying to decide what to do, she really got into the spirit after a while.
This was my first big con. Did I say big?? Almost 1500 Furs attended this one! It was huge, and the lines everywhere were long as well. I will not dwell on the elevator problems, nor the reg lines being so long. Hey, problems happen. I attended a panel on Fursuiting, and another on the Greymuzzles. Both were a blast! I fursuited as often as I could, even padding off down the street waving at cars. The Fursuit parade was a little shaky, but we finally went off throughout the hotel and outside. The UniFURsal Milk and cookies party was a resounding success, the addition of Giant Pixie stix, and the Furs trying to shoot them, added to our fun. The newest craze, Fursuit Twister, took place also. That was funny, the fursuiters trying to find their dots and slowly moving to take their place. Tibor and Fred Puma seemed to be the ones to beat! The masquerade was fun; Tyger debuted his Tiglon Suit in the first act, "Stray Cat Strut" It was very impressive. BBW did a great job making that suit! The other acts were good too..tail wags to all the showfurs!
On the return trip from, I went to New York to visit some relatives, and then we came
back to..... St. Louis for more Fury Bowling. I can't get enough of that! I actually went there first before I drove home. Still had a great time. I even got the DJ to play "Dead Skunk in the Middle of the Road". Everybody was looking at us, and me in particular, but I didn't care. It was the only song that he played that we could hear the words.
I had a truly wonderful time at this Con...I can't wait til MFM in 4 weeks!
I apologize for the blurriness of some of the pics; MissyCat was my PT photographer (hey, it's hard to snap pics when you're in suit!), and sometimes the camera wasn't set properly. Oh, and the pictures may be out of sequence too. Again I apologize.
