PUH! 3.0 Grade Average... Yeah, Right! COmmon sense... WHATEVER!!! .... Dirt roads are interesting.... Especially in this drought and all... The orange clay turns to a powder finer than flour. and that's what makes the dirt roads fun to drive on. Night is a wonderful time to drive... Especially in the backwoods... THere's no traffic, it's nice and cool at night... plus, you can see a car off in the far distance due to it's headlights... Friends are nice. They lend you CD's. That's what my friend did for me tonight. He lent me his Jimi Hendricks CD to listen too. I'm listening to it now... though the "Crosstown Traffic" song has me cringeing... Here's how I learned I was an idiot: I may not have killed anyone... or destroyed anything of real value, but this proves what I learned tonight... I love to charge down dirt roads, and skid along the curves and all... A regular Rindi 500... well, at 11:30 pm... I did that pulling out of my friend's driveway... which caused the CD to fall off my slippery Dashboard onto the floor of my car. I felt bad, for letting my friend's CD fall down like that. I respect other's stuff... or at least try to... I said to myself, I'd pick up the CD later... and kept speeding down the road... I lost my edge, however... I took the turn too fast, and began to do the normal "rear-end slide"... However... I definitely WAS going to fast... and being I have front-wheel drive... that sorta complicates it a smidge.... You'll see. I turned into the slide, to correct it... but at the same time, in the excitement, punched the gas pedal to the floor... Which fixed the swerve TOO good.. I began to slide the *other* way.... This time, as I rapidly turned the steering wheel to correct this one... I turned too much, and made the biggest mistake of all--- I SLAMMED the brakes to the floor... SO not only was the rear sliding... But I gave up all stopping power with that braking manuver... I kept turning the wheel again anyway, trying to straighten out as the WHole vehicle skidded... Unforturneately... the road was not only too short... but I was still on the CURVE part of the road! so without further ado... THe whole car skidded sideways... and ended up in the ditch... right at the end of the curve. I was perpendicular to the road like that. Well... to make matters worse... this ditch was the perfect size for my tires to stay in... There was the road, and the woods at the same height... so this "Locked" my wheels into the ditch. I put my car in reverse... but nothing moved. The tires didn't even spin out... I got out (still leaving the car in reverse to help me out a bit... It's an auto-trans.) and tried to lift/push the car out of the ditch. I'm rather amazed I even moved it a bit, now that I look back at it... It must have been the adrenaline... Well... it was stuck. I had no choice but to wake my friend's parents, (my friend hasn't even gotten a driving permit yet...) and had his dad get his truck to pull me out... which he did, bless God. My car is okay... I didn't screw the front rotors/axle like I thought... and made it home safely. Now I really need to wash my car... I feel terrible, not only because of what I did (which was REALLY stupid)... but because I had to bother his parents... and I'm afraid they'll never let me drive their son around any more... Also, I lied to them a bit... I told them that the CD fell off of the Dashboard, and I went to grab it... which isn't too far off... but I still feel bad for telling them that... The REALLY embarrasing thing is... this all happened less than a block away from their house!!! And ther you have it... Proof that I am indeed an idiot!! I must have some of God's favor... because I could have easily flipped my entire car like a coin... not to mention ram a tree... And I'm telling everyone this, to help purge my concience... which is in itself, a selfish act... Disgusted in himself, -Rindimo P.S.... WHat makes me feel even sicker... is probably the next post I send is another "Funny" one... Oy... -- The Tiger is made to kill and hunt, The Lion too, but more towards fight. The Leopards and Jaguars were made to climb, And Cheetahs made for earthly flight. But there is one creature of forgotten lore: Shrouded in mystery, be that it's trade, Of other virtues, it has all four- Respect the Puma, and what God made. -Rindimo E-mail Address: Rindimo@bellsouth.net *If you can read this, then I am still an eligible bachelor!* Founder (and only member) of: The L.O.S.T.- C.A.U.S.E.
