        Kiara was just about to defeat the evil space hyenas on her latest
video game, when suddenly, the TV was tuned off.
        "Time for bed, Kiara," Simba said. "School's tomorrow."
        "Dad!  Why do I have to go to bed so early?  Can't I stay up a little
later?"
        "Well...  All right.  But no more video games."
        "AW, DAD!"
        "No, come with me outside... there's something I've been meaning to
tell you."
        Curiously, Kiara got up, and followed her father outside the promontory
of Pride Rock.
        "Dad, it's freezing cold out here!  All the snow is sticking to my
fur.  WHat's so special out here?"
        "Look at the stars, Kiara," Simba began.  "The great satellites from
the Cold War that have nuclear warheads look down on us from those
stars."
        "Gee.  Really."
        "Yes, and they will always be there to fry you, as will I if you don't
go to bed early."
        "Thanks for the peptalk, Dad, But I can't help it!  I can't find where
that darn nightlight is so I can turn it off."
        "There's no night light in your room...  The walls have always glowed
like that after that real hot summer day..."
        "Well it's getting annoying!"
        "Well, sorry honey...  The contractor is supposed to put some wallpaper
in your room next week."
        "Great.  Are we done now?  My fifth leg is getting numb from all this
cold snow and ice."
        "Sure, but I want to see you go STRAIGHT to bed now, you hear me?  I
got eyes in the back of my head you know..."
        "Yes yes," Kiara began reciting the common phrase, "And mom has an
extra set of ears...  I know."
