Anyway... on with the show! ;) He Still Laughs. By: Charles Barta AKA Rindimo Cheetah The sun crept over the horizon, to start a brand-new day. With revulsion, he forces himself awake, and holds his dreams at bay. Sleepily, he joins his comrades, to continue the day's current plight That deals of things of survival, that deals of life's greatest fight. Still he laughs. Hungerred now, the yips are heard, the bellies rumble for the bass In life's ancient orchestra-- of empty gastrointestinal disgrace. The nashing of the itching teeth, the tensing of the muscles swift The slobberring and breath that's heaved, the stomach begging to heal the rift. Still he laughs. And though there may be nothing there, There has been worse paying for life's fare. And better, is all the day can be Though many a time the night brought tragedy. Still he laughs. And as the ice of darkness hardens the land and sighs carry a flavor rendered bland He goes back to his dreams of favor-- Dreams of life of a differrent flavor. Still he laughs. Through rest and sorrow, through pain and joy Through illness and hunger, through death that does destroy Through dreams and of evils, through worse and better Through freedom and willpower, through the sunlight and through the fetter...
