"THE LION KING: CHAOS" BY, RYAN MARKEY PROLOGUE Ian Malcolm walked down the vally, lost. He walked for miles, cursing at imself for wearing all black under such a hot sun, and then wondering off away from Sarah Harding's camp. Then, without paying atention, he sliped down a hill, and hit his head on a rock. CHAPTER ONE THE CHAOS LAW Simba looked out at his kingdom from atop Pride Rock. He'd say it was about 3:00 PM. He looked at his kingdom once more, and nothing had changed. Everything was like it always was. Then, he saw Zazu flying twords him. Zazu landed in front of him, and bowed. "Yes, Zazu?" Simba asked. "What seems to be the problem?" "Well sire," Zazu replied, "We found a.... human." "A what?" "A human, sire." "A human? Here? How?" "I don't know sire. He's passed out for the meantime. I think he fell." "Where is he?" "Well, we put him in a cave untill we got orders from you." "Does he look Dangerous?" "No, not really." "Hmm. I'll take a look at him. Show where he is." "Yes sire," Zazu said, flying away. "He's coming about," Nala said. Nala, Simba, Zazu, Timone, and Pumba all stood around Ian as he began to wake. "Oh, %*@#," Ian cursed, feeling his head. He looked up. "Can he hear us?" Simba asked Zazu. "What the *@%#?" Ian cursed agin. "You can hear us?" Zazu asked. "I'm dead, aren't I? Is that it? Don't tell me death is like Disney or anything, Or did I just opened the door to Narnia?" "You can hear us!" Zazu exclaimed. "What does it look like? I'm dreaming. Just give me a minute, and I'll wake up." Ian leaned to his left, eyes opened. "Zazu?" Simba asked. "How can he hear us?" "I don't know sire," Zazu said. "I think it was fall. Maybe he hit his head, and damaged his abilities." "I sure do hope so," Ian said. They looked at him agin. "Well, what do we do with him?" "Kill me," Ian said. "Oh, ya, I'm already dead." "Look," Simba said. "Keep him here and let him rest. We'll figure out everything later. "Oh #&$*!" Ian said. "What?" Simba asked. "What's wrong?" "I'm not dreaming. It's chaos having it's sweet revenge on me, isn't it?" "Chaos?" Simba asked. "I'll explain later. Could someone get this weasel away from my face," he yelled at Timone who was standing infront of him. "I'm a meerkat," Timone said. "What ever, just go away, would ya?" Ian moaned, and closed his eyes. Five minutes later, Ian awoke, and found Sarabi sitting infront of him. "It wasn't a dream was it?" "I'm afraid not," she said. "Please say you're going to kill me." "Of course not." "My luck," he said, getting up. He felt his head and moaned. "Ohh, what a headake." "Is there anything I can do?" Sarabi asked. "You know, you're not like those other lions, are you?" "Well, we're all most the same." "Uh-hu." Ian looked around, and went outside. He took in a breath of fresh air, then looked at Simba on top of Pride Rock. "Could you tell me why everyone calls that guy "sire". "He's the king." "The king? Of what?" "Of the Pridelands, of course." Ian walked further out, and saw a huge clearing. "The king of all this? There really is a king of the jungle?" "I sopose." "And who are you?" "I am his mother." Ian looked at Simba, and then at Serabi, then he shook his head. "If only Sarah could be in my shoes," he said. "She'd be getting a kick out of all this. Too bad I can't tell her about this." "Why can't you?" Serabi asked, puzzled. "She'd think I'm nuts, or think I'm jokeing. In other words, she wouldn't belive me." "Why don't you try?" "If I get out of here, I will. She still won't belive me, I know it. Ian looked at Simba agin. "Could ya tell me what he's doing up there?" "Oh, just looking over the kingdom like his father used to do." "If you're his mother, where's his father?" "His father, Mufasa, was killed." Ian looked at the ground, and then back at her. "I'm sorry." She shook her head. "You know, we never did introduce ourselves." "My name is Serabi." "I'm Ian Malcolm." He smiled. "Pleased to meet you." She smiled, and noded. "It's the element of chaos that broght me here," Ian said, sneeking up on Simba. "What is chaos?" Simba asked. "When a butterfly flaps it's wings in china," Ian said with a smile, "Africa gets rain. That's chaos." "I still don't get it." "One action leads to another, creating a chain of reactions. Say, I brush my teeth in the morning. That leads to how I can't taste my cereal. Understand?" "I, think so," Simba said with a confused look. "My name's Ian Malcolm." "Mine's Simba." "King, King Simba, don't you mean?" "You can call me Simba." "Well, Simba, it's good to know you." "Likewise." "Well, you wouldn't know the way back to mankind, would you?" "Sorry." "Didn't think so." "SIRE! SIRE!" Zazu yelled. "Zazu? What is it?" "A herd of hyenas are attacking!" "Where?" "The west wing!" "There goes chaos," Ian said. Zazu gave him a confused look. "Tell them I'm on my way." "Yes sire." TO BE CONTINUED THE LION KING: CHAOS BY, RYAN MARKEY CHAPTER TWO GRANT Dr. Grant stood on the deck of the boat, looking at the coast of Congo. He was asked to join Sarah Harding on an expidition. He knew Harding from when he was in school. They had only met but for just a few times. He told her how he'd always like to Africa. She was giving him a favor. He was also told that Malcolm would be there. Ian Malcolm. Grant remembered when he and Malcolm first met. It was about six or seven years ago, on an island off the coast of Costa Rica. Isla Nublar. He had heard that Malcolm was on an island just north of that earlier with Harding, but he forgot the name. Isla sor, sorn, somthing. What was he doing there, Grant wondered. Grant probably didn't want to know. Then, some one yelled, "HOLE!" The boat sarted to go down. The fight went on for a long while. Finaly, the lions won. "What was that all about," Simba asked himself. Zazu heard him. "Maybe it's the human," Zazu sugested. "Forget it, Zazu," Simba said angrily. "I'm not geting rid of him." "But, sire, you must. He could be dangerous." "He could die out there in the wilderness, and you know how I am about people dieing." "Of course, sire." Grant awoke to find himself on a beach. He looked around for anyone that could help him, but there seemed to be none. He started walking. "Well," Malcolm asked, "what happened?" "We won," Simba said. "Uhhh," Malcolm started, "you wouldn't be at war with these hyenas, would you?" "Yes, of course," Simba said. "Yes, of course," Malcolm repeated. "They can talk, why can't they have a goverment?" "A what?" Zazu asked. "Nothing, uh...." Zazu looked confused. "Uhhhh...." Malcolm repeated. Zazu had no idea what he was doing. "What's your name?" "Oh, Zazu." "Zazu, heh? Well, my name's Malcolm, Ian Malcolm." He saw Nala comeing. "That must be Money Penny." Everyone looked at him. "Forget it." "Simba," Nala started. "Nala," Simba interupted, "this is Ian Malcolm." "Hello, I'm Nala," She said to Ian. "Hello," Ian said. "Simba, I can't be fore sure, but, I think I saw another human. THE LION KING: CHAOS BY, RYAN MARKEY CHAPTER THREE GRANT AND MALCOLM Malcolm looked at Simba, then at Zazu. "are they male or female?" Malcolm asked Zazu. "I don't know," he replied. "I think male." "Male?" Malcolm replied surprised. Simba, Zazu, and Malcolm went down to where Nala saw the human drinking. Malcolm looked. "Grant?" he asked himself. "Alan Grant?" "You know him?" Simba asked. "Used to. We only met once at that %#$ awful island, Isla Nublar. But what's he doing here?" "Maybe chaos," Simba sugested. They started walking. "Uh, guys, I don't know about this, but maybe I should go first. "Good thinking," Simba said. Malcolm walked on. "Dr. Alan Grant?" Malcolm called out. Grant turned to see Malcolm. "Ian Malcolm? What are you doing here?" "Oh, you know, chaos. Do know where we should go to get back to Sarah's camp?" "No, but there is a map in my bag." He reached in, and pulled out a map. "Alrite, we are here." "How do you know that?" "I've been falowing this map, I know where we are. Do you have a gun?" "No." "How did you get past the animals? They're dangerous around here." "Do you want to make a bet?" Ian smiled. "Simba, Zazu, It's alrite," he called. Grant saw a lion and a bird coming towords them. He pulled out a gun. "No, Grant! It's alrite. They're here to help." "What do you mean?" "While walking up here, I triped and hit my head on a rock. My hearing abilitys wher, I guess you could say, damaged. I could understand what they wher saying. I could comunicate with them." "What? Is this some kind of joke?" "No, watch. Uh, Zazu, fly around my head twice." "What?" Zazu asked. All Grant could here was whistleing. "Why?" "So I can prove that you can hear me. Just do it, please?" Grant saw Zazu's eyes roll back as he flew around Malcolm's head twice. Grant stood there, silent. "How...." "Chaos," Malcolm said. That's how. Come on, I have somthing to show you." THE LION KING: CHAOS BY, RYAN MARKEY PART TWO FIRST CONFIGURATION "What leads to the rise and decline of earth's species? Could it be that we are all conected in some way?" -Ian Malcolm CHAPTER FOUR Ian Malcolm looked at Grant's map. "Uh," he started, "are you sure we're here?" "I'm pretty sure of it." "Pretty sure? You should know." Grant looked at angrily. "I know." Ian smiled, and shook his head. Then he walked over to Simba. "It was fun," he said. "We must do this agin," Simba said, and smiled. Malcolm bowed, smiled, and began walking away. Kika (Simba's son) was playing with haka (another lion cub). They wher running around when they heard a noise. A hyena walked out from the bushes, smileing, drooling. "Lunch," he said. Both of the cubs screamed, but they wher traped. The hyena pouched down, then.... BANG! The hyena fell over, dead. Malcolm came out of the bushes with a gun in his hand. "Are you kids alrite?" The two cubs shook their heads. "Good," Malcolm said. "We need to get you two home. Come on." THE LION KING: CHAOS CHAPTER FIVE HARDING BY RYAN MARKEY Grant fallowed the map to northern Africa. He used the Sun and moon as his compass. He was looking for a small vilage named Klerka. Just a kilometer north of that would be Harding's camp. Then, they could get a helocopter and fly Malcolm out of there. Grant was afraid to try to get Malcolm out of the Pridelands thogh. After all, Malcolm liked it there. He had met animals he called his freinds. Well, Grant thoght, maybe I need to get out of here to. I think I'm loosing it. "Ian," Simba said, "I thoght you had left for your home." "You know," Ian started. "Chaos, rite?" Simba interupted. "Thank you for saveing my son's life." "Do you understand the element of Chaos now? I got lost in the dessert, and that action caused me to save your son. Every action leads to another reaction...." "Forming a chain of reactions, I think I've figured it out." "Very good," Ian said. Grant walked up to the small camp. "Sarah?" he called out. Harding steped out of one tents. "Alan?" she asked. "Sarah, I know where Ian is." "What?" "I've found him. He got lost, and ended up just south east of here." "Is he alrite? There's a huge pride of lions south." "I know, that's where he's at." "What? Are you o'k Alen?" "Sarah, look, I know you're not going to belive me when I tell you this, but...." Harding looked at Grant with a curios look. "He fell, hit his head on a rock, damaged his hearing abilities, and can now communicate with animals." "What?" she asked wide- eyed. "I am telling the truth. Now, we've got to get a helocopter down there rite now." "Sorry Alen, but no helocopters are going anywhere. "Why not?" "Look up." That he did, and saw storm clouds. "Oh great," he sighed. THE LION KING:CHAOS CHAPTER SIX ISLA SORNA REMEMBERED "Sir," Zazu said after the storm. "We've found a skeleton of some sort of lizard." "Of what?" Malcolm asked. "A lizard," Zazu repeated. "Is it big?" "Well, the same size as you or Simba." Malcolm took a deep breath. "Where is it?" Zazu took them to where the skeleton was. Malcolm looked carefully. There was still skin on it, but barely any. Malcolm looked at Simba. "We're going to have to burn it," he said. "What?" Zazu asked suprised. "Just do it!" They lit the skeleton on fire. Malcolm knew what it was the at the first glance. He had seen his fare share of raptor skeletons. But what was it doing here? The storm was strong, but not strong enoph to wash a skeleton all the way from Costa Rica to the shores of eastern Africa. Then, Malcolm thoght a little. He remembered back just before going to Isla Sorna Levine telling him something about large animals being sighted in Congo. They wher very near Congo rite now. Oh no, Malcolm thoght to himself. Another?
