What are they?
MUCKs (comes from MUD- Multi User Dimensions/Dungeons) are big balls of gas, burning... Ooops, I started wandering off again. Let's try it again: MUCKs are interactive environments, used to bring together a lot of players, which then RP (Role-Play) a certain character(s). MUCKs are the social branch of MUDs, concentrating on socializing, rather than fighting (though there is a lot of that too). You take-up a life of a character and live him/her. Although there are rules, you can RP them as you like, but it must be kept realistic (from the MUCKs point of view). Below are the TLK MUCKs which can be found on the net (if I missed any, please tell me).
You can connect to them via Telnet (bad choice, but a must-do for all newbies) or using a client. The bad side of Telnet is, that you cannot see what you are typing and you have a very limited view (once the text has gone off the screen, you cannot view it again).
