Nala. Probably the most talked-about character in the fandom. As bizarre
as it may seem to the non-fans, this character has stolen the hearts of
many fans with her personality and looks. And with many, that's an understatement.
Stories and whole sites are dedicated to her, varying from every day to
adult in content. One of the most known and most visited is the Nalaholics
Anonymous page, owned by SimbaW, the lucky fan with a great name. Some
may call /this/ kind of fandom strange, but is it any less stranger then
liking a fictitious, non-animated character? Anyone that knows the feeling
says no.
So, what is it about her that inspired a lot of people
to write stories, long and short, draw pictures and even write poems? Ask
5 nalaholics and you'll receive 10 different answers. Noone's sure, but
it has to do with the individual. In the movie, Nala is Simba's cubhood
friend and later his mate. They fall in love shortly after they re-unite
in the jungle, meeting again after a long time. With the help of Rafiki
she persuades him to return and he takes his place as king of the Pridelands.
The stories continues in Simba's Pride, the direct-to-video release of
The Lion King's sequel and talks about their daughter Kiara and Simba's
problems, dealing with his past.
