For those who do not know, Megan was a girl who was killed by an evil leader of a wolf pack. Megan guides Anya once Anya comes back to Nome.
~Anya- A now 15 year old girl. She is too kind hearted for her own good, for she helps Band & Bitey, she is not bad, she just doesn't want an animal in Band's condition to die. Anya has very constant visions, whenever she touches a creature, she reads their memories. Her stunning green eyes & shining blonde hair is the most distinctive feature of her angelic beauty. All of the other kids start picking on her after a while, mainly ones many years older, but she shows them who is boss.
~Band- In this story, Band is not as evil, but is still on the line. "His Blue eyes are a blue of the Mediterranean, as clear as a crystal, but they radiate a coldness that only the bottom of the deepest trench in the ocean can obtain."- said by Anya. He actually survives the little attack, but will he survive another? Only Anya will save him this time.
~Bitey- A very dynamic character in this story, Bitey is good for almost the whole thing, he survived as well, how he lived, only the Lord knows. Bitey is a white samoyed with a powerful bite.
~Megan's spirit- Now, Megan may have died, but her spirit remains, giving Anya more powers that may just make her the savior for Nome. Megan only apears inside Anya's head so brace yourselves.
~Aura- Aura is another of Megan's spirit guides, she is only in the story behind Megan inside Anya's mind.
~Bane's damned soul- Yup, Bane is back, & to make it worse, he is possessing all of Anya'a friend's, seeking vengeance upon her for shooting him.(Tres Pathetique, n'est pas?)
~Le Topaz Du Soleil- The Topaz of the Sun, in french, this is a necklace with a gold chain, & a heart-cut topaz it's power? None really, it just shines in the light. This is Anya's only thing left for her by her mother, Jeanette LeQue.
I would also like to inform you all that if you are against magic that the following story is not viewed for it is chuck full of it. May I also note that there is some minor bad language in this story as well, just a point of advice incase you are against it.
& last but not least I would like you to know some of the stuff is in french so email me or silverwolf to know the translation.
~Chapitre Un: Le Blanc Chien~
(Chapter One - The White Dog)
I had lived in the southern point of the Aleutian Islands for about Duer (2) years now. My father is still part of the government, but i have been really sick of his constant congregations every damned day, so I have decided to keep my promise to Megan, & move back to Nome.
If I honestly had the choice, I would have stayed in Nome, that is where I was born, but as I have grown up, I had only been there a few times, my family owned a huge mansion on the mountain near the forest there.
I think it was fate that brought me to Nome, for if I didn't beg my father to bring me, Megan wouldn't have been the only one to have died either, many humans would, too.
When I was in the Aleutian Islands, I wasn't able to use any of my powers, for I was in a predicament in which I was constantly surrounded by people, not even a large cluster of trees on the island anyways.
But one night I got sick of the place, I sat in my room one night, packing my stuff & my most treasured possession that my father gave me the year before, my mother's necklace, it had a marvelous gold chain, & at the end was a perfectly cut topaz, shaped into a heart.
My father was completely opposed to it, he said I wasn't cut out for a town in the middle of nowhere. But I gave quite a fight, he finally concurred to my idea, but he said if I ever needed a home, he was always there for me.
(On The Train)
I was peering out the window of the tediously moving train as it was passing through the pines. When I arrived at Nenana, I had to go the rest by snowmobile, the idea was not appealing, but it would work.
I took a train up past the Mackenzie River, then it crossed the Yukon River, until it screeched to a halt at a little town.
It was blizzarding outside as if the Lord was hurling icicles down upon us. It was so thick that i almost couldn't see more than 10 feet in front of me, even though it was only about noon.
I retrieved the snowmobile out of the cargo hold.
The snow gear i put on was not very comforting, but it was a lot more durable & warm than what I was going to wear. ( jeans & a jacket )
The engine hummed as I flipped on the switch, the light blazed a trail ahead. The snowmobile sped up through the trails, past little lakes, dense pine forests, cliffs, icy ridges & little caverns shining from the glimmering icicles.
"JEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNAAAAAAAAAAA!" was a loud, shrill voice that I heard over the loud noise of snapping sticks & the snowmobile's clicking noises.
The sound came from at the bottom of a cliff I was on.
Curiously, I turned off the vehicle, walking to the edge, the bottom was foggy, but bellow I herd constant growling & snarling, plus a little whining, a dog's whine against a wolf's growls.
The cliff was very bumpy going down, at the edge where i was was a blood stain.
I ran to the snowmobile, & lit a torch, & threw it over the edge, I heard the sound of retreating canines below.
The climb down was not so's hard or long, the cliff was very sloping a little farther away. I got down to see what looked like a White, ( red from the blood ) Alaskan Malamute. His eyes were close to blood shot, his face, covered in almost a mask of blood, the torch was nearby.
I reached down to him, getting my fingertips a little bit of blood, most of it was cold, so i remembered what Megan told me about the spirit of the wolf, I reached down to the pitiful animal, touching his head, & his wounds were disappearing, only leaving the blood stains behind.
~Chapitre deux: Band~
(Chapter Two: Band)
He was still too weak. You should definitely tell why he was so weak because most of his blood was on his fur, or on the ground, as well as one thing, the only flaw in the healing power was that it could restore missing blood, I was going to be surprised if he survived at all. His eyes were open, he was slightly growling, I honestly couldn't tell whether he was angry, or if he was terrified to the bone.
"Shhhhhhh...", I whispered," no one is going to hurt you now."
I had a strong feeling......... I took the tips of my finger, place them on his head, in a flash I saw his whole life memories, from California, to the last seconds before he was attacked by the wolves. Let me tell you, I knew Balto, & the thought to leave him there was so damned strong, but I knew it wasn't the right thing, so I did all I could do was load him in the back of the snowmobile. I always was never the kind to just let an animal die out in the middle of nowhere. There was only two animals I had ever killed where those two demonic wolves that killed Megan, & the one who killed me, just thank the lord Megan revived my soul, but her life was slowly sucked away, it is the price for reviving a other soul, yours is taken in exchange, very unfortunate, especially if it is to save one's life.
There was one more thing on my mind, the dogs friend, Bitey. I knew Band (I found out his name in his memories. ) didn't believe Balto, but I knew one thing, Balto was not the kind to lie, & is Band never saw that, Il est tres bhete! Call me dumb for worrying about a dog that I never even saw outside of another's memory, but I was way to darn sympathetic, I couldn't help it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(20 min. later)
The snowmobile was racing through the forest, until I came to a fairly large lake, on the side facing me, there was a fracture is the ice, by the shore. Blood was near the shore, next to a tree was a beat-up samoyed, laying down panting heavily, his fur was covered with cold water, & running blood. His fangs dripped blood, DARN! what did I get myself into? But, me being me, I healed him, too, I loved animals way to much, n'est pas?
His yellow eyes beamed at Band laying on the snowmobile, he started whining softly.
"Pauvres chiens,"I whispered," what did you do to get so beat up?"
"Fell in lake."he said
"Yeah, I see that much, but.."I stopped,"never mind, I'll find out for myself." I slowly reached for his head, my fingertips felt the cold & icy remnants of water on his head, his memories flashed before as Band's did, revealing the fight with Steele, his trademark bite, & how he survived falling into the lake.( by managing to get into shallow water & breaking through the ice. But how he was able to keep his breathe so long, I did not know, nor did I want to feel the pain of the feeling of his lungs gasping violently for air.
"You two are very lucky, I notice you are fine, Bitey, but as for your friend, we need to get to Nome."
"Nome-" he started.
"I know already, you won't be in Nome, I will, you will be at my house, on the mountain."
"How do you know what has gone on..."he said," You weren't even here."
"Well one thing is for certain," I said," You just said the longest sentence in your life."
"You psychic or somethin'?"
"You could say that, Bitey, you really could."
~Chapitre trois: Nome at last!~
(Chapter Three: Nome at last!)
The light in my old house flickered on, the main hall was once more alive with light, the double staircases were dusty on the red carpet, the corridor leading to the kitchen & den were dusty as well.
Upstairs was my room, a typical rich persons room, it had a white fire place, a balcony outlooking the town down the mountain, the doors of finely framed glass, the balcony railings were intricately designed stainless steel. My four-poster bed was in the center to the left the door, to the right the balcony, about 10 feet from the foot of the bed was the fireplace. a white piano next to the door to the balcony. the walls had little paintings, & my favorite feature was an antique vanity with a little golden box in front, this is where I put my mother's necklace in.
When we moved to the Aleutian Islands, we didn't take anything in our house, except for little things.
After Megan died, I came home, my father never noticed the blood along my dress, thank god that it was a red one. We moved a few days after the funeral, my father or any other human knew about it. When we buried her, it was at night, no one ever noticed, it is a shame though, Megan was the kind that you wouldn't know for more than a few days, or even hours, & you would be her best friend, she was very sweet that way, too bad a bastard wolf killed her because he despised the human race & was plotting their downfall probrobly for years. Is that a reason to kill an entire pack or a young girl? (don't answer that... )
Anyways, Bitey was moving, Band could, but he was still too weak so, me being me I did what Megan did for Steele, I got a big pillow for him & put it by the fireplace. Bitey was always silent, almost never talked the whole few hours it took to get to Nome. I think that both were glad my house was a little off the outskirts, atop a mountain, it is a small mountain, filled with little pine trees, a stone path leads to town. It is about a 3 minute walk until you reach the shore to the sea, then about another 3 until you reach the shipyard, then about a minute to the town,if you take your time to enjoy the scenery.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(on the bed)
I decided not to go to town for maybe another week.
I sat on my bed as the fire blazed in the marble fireplace, snow was sticking to the glass windows on the balcony, the light was bright & lit the room.
I was reading a little book about a french play, it was written completely in french, that is why I loved it.
Band was very quiet, like Bitey, he never talked, never. His eyes were focused on the flames. I thought that his eyes were as blue as the Mediterranean, clear as a crystal, but they almost always radiated a coldness, this chilled me to the point in which I almost was sick to think I saved the life of a temperamental, & lustful killer. But his motives were so darn pathetic & stupid, that I pitied him.
I got up from the bed & stared out the window to the town. The little lantern lights flickered there.
I stepped out onto the balcony, I stared to the earth beneath me, 2 more stories down. I peered up into the sky, seeing snowflakes flutter back & forth.
Outside it was cold, so I stepped inside to feel the warmth of the fire. Band was sleeping on the big pillow, Bitey was not in the room.
My footsteps echoed down the old staircases, the light was flooding the large main hall.
I stepped out side on the cold earth. The trail to Nome was dark & gloomy. I just stood in the doorway, feeling the cold alaskan wind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(inside the house)
I was walking slowly up the stairs, down the hall & to my room. Bitey was in the corner, alone, as usual, & Band was near the fire, muttering to himself. That night I slept, but what happened in my dream, was different entirely, literally.
~Chapitre quatre: Megan in the dream~
(Chapter Four: Megan in the dream)
I layed in bed only to hear the wind outside howling for a few seconds, then, an orchestra of wolves howling. This, Band heard, & he started whimpering. ( I didn't know if he still hated them or was terrified of them. )
There was a pulling on the covers. I looked over to see none other than Band, staring at me. We stared at eye contact for a minute, I, for a second thought that he may bite me or something like that for with dos & wolves, when you stare them in the eyes, it means you are challenging them, but he stood there.
"Band," I whispered," I don't mean to be rude but, what in gods name are you doing?"
He put his head down. whispered something to himself, then went back to his little pillow. Then it struck me, Band was scared to death.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(In the dream)
In my dream I was in a misty void, there was no earth at all, no sky, just mist everywhere.
"You have kept your promise, Anya." said a soft voice.
I saw a girl, a girl with blue eyes, brown hair, & a dazzling smile, it was Megan.
"You have really done a good thing saving those two dogs today," she said,"I myself pitied them."
"Megan, your a..."
"Yes Anya, I am a spirit talking to you through your dreams, I can only be seen within your mind."
"I never saw you before." I said.
"You kept the promise you made, I had to tell you."
"tell me what?" I asked.
"A dog a few weeks back was killed by a demon, a black wolf, that only appeared in his mind, she possessed the dog & made him kill another, then killed the dog he possessed."
"Which dog are you talking about?" I asked.
"A brown & white husky, named Roland."
"What does the demon have to do with me?"
"Anya, I must warn you, he is after you, you killed him."
"He is the wolf who killed you!" I said.
"Yes, he is only going to kill you one way." she said." He is going to possess your friend to."
"How do I kill him again?"
"How else do you kill a demon?" she said," you must know his name."
"But I don't know his name!"
"And I can't help you, if you can't figure out his name. you need other ways, for I can't tell you his name."
"Then bring him on..." I whispered
~Chapitre Cinq: Band's Mind.~
(Chapter Five: Band's Mind)
"Anya, he won't be easy, you will have to use natural forces."
"What natural forces would these be?" I asked.
"Well, The Spirit of The Wolf is not the only inuit spirit out there."
"Where can I find them?"I asked.
"There is an inuit village somewhere south pf where you are, I pray it is still there, they will know where you may find them, & which creatures they are."
"Alright then."
"I will go there, Megan."I said.
"Good, I must go now."
"Aur revoir for now, Megan."I whispered.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(In the morning)
My eyes shot open. The sun was shining through the window, it was lightly snowing outside. I got dressed & went downstairs. The thought of the demon terrorizing my friends was flashing in my mind. I decided I had to go to the inuit village as Megan said.
"Well,"Said a voice behind me,"You're finally awake."
I turned around to see Band, standing (as usual ) behind me.
"Yes, I am, I need to go to an inuit village a little farther southern from here."
"Okay, what are you hiding from me?" He asked.
"It really isn't any of your business, but if you must know, you will, I just hope you don't go into shock." I joked.
"Yeah right, that isn't possible."
"You were terrified to the bone last night, Band, I can read you like a book."
"Whatever, what are you going to tell me?"
"Nothing." I said.
I ( again ) took my finger tips & placed them on his head. I let my memories of the night before, as well as the night that Megan died go into him, he stood there with his mouth wide open.
"I knew wolves were a menace!" he claimed
"Yes Band, you keep on saying that."
Before he could say anything else I was out the door, he never got to say a word.
~Chapitre Six: The saw mill~
(Chapter Six: The Saw Mill)
I walked down The little stone path, I was thinking that I was going to Nome about a week from then, but I decided to go to the saw mill.
The path in town was a little on the icy side. The lanterns were snuffed out, I saw the saw mill ahead.
I decide not to go in right away, but to peek in a window.
I did so. Inside I saw Balto, & the rest of the dogs, they seemed to be celebrating. I had a hunch what it was they were celebrating about, Band & Bitey died, or so they thought. I decided I would come back within a few days.
I walked to the shore of the Bering Sea. I sat on the cold sand, little bits of snow & ice were floating in the salty water. It was winter, so the water was very cold.
I was going to go to the village like Megan said, but I wanted to wait, I felt an urge that that may not help, the spirits may have been in Nome.
~Chapitre Sept: Rosalina~
(Chapter Seven: Rosalina)
I sat on the cold sand, peering into the cloudless sky. The cold sea air blew at my hair. My double braids were flying back. My coat was moving slightly, too.
I stood up & turn around to see a female husky, I recognized , she was the last love of Band, or should I say, Albert.
"Hello Rosalina," I said," or should I say..... Liz?"
She was very silent, she had a very angry look in her eyes. "Well, Liz, Albert....."
"How do you know about Albert?!" She yelled, she dashed off.
I sighed, she was hopelessly in love, too bad she didn't know that Band was probrobly just in her for the looks.
I turned around, I saw a totem pole, wooden statues of a bear, a wolf, a fox, an eagle, & a wolverine. But here is the creepy part, the totem pole wasn't there.......... two minutes before.
~To Be Continued~
Yup, another is on the way, trusty me, there is a ton of more parts. ( I may make IX or X, i dunno) Well, I hope you all liked my story!:)
