Maggie
By Tondalover

One day in the town of Nome, Alaska an incoming plane was arriving. Many people came out of the plane and one of the passengers had a dog, a female dog. As soon as the last passenger got off of the plane it took off.  All of the passengers from the plane had a place to stay and the passenger with the dog was named Mikey, he was very young to be flying into Nome all by himself, besides his dog companion, Maggie. He was probably only 18 years old, and Maggie was still a young puppy.  Maggie was about 2 years old. She was a pure bred, short haired, doberman pincher with a little stubby tail, oh but she sure could wag that stubby tail! Her fur color would gleam in the sunlight with her mahogany fur colors mixed with a golden color but it did not show as well as the mahogany did.  Maggie and her master, Mikey, would be staying at a lodge called The Final Frontier Hotel.  As soon as the two of them were done settling into their new home, Mikey got started on his homework because it was brake for him but he had a report to finish, and Maggie went outside to explore the new town.

Maggie was walking and enjoying the beautiful afternoon when she was turning a sharp comer and ran into Balto, the hero of Nome who was part dog and part wolf.

"Ouch!" her and Balto said together because they hit eachother in the head.

"Oh I'm sorry, are you all right?" asked Balto looking at the new dog.

"Yes, I'm okay," replied Maggie, "Who are you anyways?"

"I'm Balto, but I do not believe that I've seen you around here before." replied Balto back to her.

"Oh, I am sorry, I'm Maggie, I am new around here." said Maggie.

"It's okay, here I'll let you come follow me to the broiler room." Balto said.

"The broiler room? " Maggie said to herself confused but she followed him anyway.

"Well,...here it...is, the broiler... room. Don't be shy, I'll introduce you to the gang." Balto said panting between each breath that he took.

They both walk in together and everyone looks and then they continue in their own conversations.

"Attention please! We have a new resident to Nome, her name is Maggie." announces Balto with Jenna, his mate, rubbing against him passionately.  Maggie steps into the center and then backs away a little bit but not stepping out to where no one would see her. She was sitting next to Balto, not touching him so Jenna would not get mad, and Jenna on the other side of Balto. She was too shy to sit next to anyone she didn't know well.

Everyone said hello, hey, or hi to her although, Steele remarked rudely to her, "Hey! What's wrong with your tail!?" and then everyone laughed except for Balto and Jenna.

"Cut it out Steele? She's new here!" snapped Balto and Jenna to Steele.

"Ahhh, boo whoo! Ahahaha!" Steele laughs and the others join him.

Maggie starts to growl and jumps at his left front paw and clamps down hard on it sending Steele into a moment of pain.

"ARPH!" screams Steele starting a low growl, "Why did you do that!?"

"Because you made fun of me!" she yelled back at him, growling louder than he did himself.

"I think I like this girl, she's like me. " said Steele to himself dreamily.

"What's wrong with him?" said Maggie confused again.

"I don't know, I have never ever seen him look like that before." replied Balto to Maggie.

"I have seen this odd look before," Jenna told Maggie, "He looked at me like that when he first saw me, looks to me like Steele has a case of puppy love with you."

Maggie gasped deeply into another dreamy look, a look like Steele had then.  It was very late at that time and all the dogs were going home. Maggie and Steele were the last two in the broiler room.

"Would you like for me to walk you home?" Steele said shyly to Maggie.

"Yes, thank you, I'm not sure how to get back anyways so please do." replied Maggie to Steele Shyly also.

"You don't know where you live?" Steele asked worried.

"I know what hotel I am staying at, though." Maggie told Steele.

"What one do you go to?" asked Steele.

"I think it's called The Final Frontier Hotel." Maggie replied.

"The Final Frontier! Why, that's only a few blocks away from me!" Steele said excitedly.

"Wow! That's awesome!" Maggie replied.

And so, the two dogs walked home together and talked as they walked but Steele was limping a little but he didn't try to show that he was limping. But after a while, it got quiet.

Steele broke the silence and said, "Well, here's The Final Frontier Hotel."

"Thanks Steele," she said, "Ummn...Well, by any chance, will I see you again soon?"

"Yeah! I mean, sure how does uhh, tomorrow sound?" Steele asked to Maggie.

"Tomorrow sounds great Steele!" Maggie said back to Steele excitedly.

"So, it's a date then?" Steele asked, hoping that it was a date.

"Yes!" Maggie told him.

"Okay then, I'll pick you up in front of your hotel tomorrow and I'll try to look my best!" said Steele.

"Okay, me too, bye." Maggie had said.

"Bye!" shouted Steele back to Maggie.

Of course though, Sylvia, the gossip dog, couldn't help herself and listened to every bit of what they had said and of course she spread the word as "Steele's first date!" and she would tell details later to the other dogs when Maggie and Steele weren't around, she thought to herself, "Steele's first date, and maybe his last!" Then she chuckled to herself and was off, back to her own house.  When Maggie came back into her room, her master was asleep, so Maggie licked his face gently just to tell him that she was back.

Mikey slightly woke up and whispered, "Oh, hey girl," he started to yawn and then finished, "It's late, so time for bed." and with that he Mikey drifted into his pillow and fell asleep.  Maggie was not tired, but she always obeyed her master and went to sleep dreaming about the next day and what it would be like, therefore, Maggie had never been on a date before, why, she has never even had a boyfriend before, either.

Maggie had been dreaming happy dreams and got up when her master's alarm clock went off at 7:30 in the morning. She was so excited she scratched on the door to be let out, but her master was stuck at the hotel because he didn't finish his report yet. Mikey let Maggie out and told her to come home earlier this time. Maggie barked an 'okay' to him and left to go outside.

When she was finally outside, she saw Steele waiting for her nervously. She decided to play a good scare on him 'cause around here, that's what he is known for. she ran behind a building without making a sound and got behind him. She then jumped on him friendly and said, "Boo!" as a joke.

They both laughed together and Steele said, "Hey, Maggie, that was a good one, you scared me for sure" and then they both laughed. Steele just remembered the mistake he had made and worried. He forgot to ask her last night where she wanted to go!

Steele gulped and said, "Umm, so, uh where would you like to go today?"

"Well Steele, I was hoping that we could go into the broiler room together so everyone would know that we both love eachother, a lot." Maggie told Steele in a sly voice.

Steele said, "Okay."

So they went off together over to where the broiler room was, and stepped inside.

Everyone welcomed Steele, and his date. Sylvia was there too but she couldn't believe her eyes, Steele wasn't afraid that he liked someone, someone not like her but like Maggie! Sylvia was a little jealous other but she soon got over it in a day.

"Wow, I didn't know that you liked him back." whispered Balto to Maggie.

"Yes, I know, and we're on a date right now!" she whispered back to Balto.

"I'm happy for you." replied Balto in a low whisper.

All of the male dogs congratulated Steele for his good choice to have Maggie as a date.  All of the female dogs, except for Sylvia, congratulated Maggie for having a boyfriend when she was so new around here. Soon the two dogs got up to go for a walk. Balto and Jenna were coming with Steele and Maggie so if anything happened there were four of them. As they walked, Jenna and Maggie were next to eachother talking while Steele and Balto were talking.

"I feel great for you Maggie! I mean you are so new here and a lot of new dogs never get girlfriends or boyfriends, also it's great for Steele too because he has never had a girlfriend this long before." Said Jenna laughing a little at the end.

"Yes, and it must be wonderful for you too because you and Balto are mates." Maggie said to Jenna.

"Yes it is wonderful." Jenna told Maggie.

Back over to where Steele and Balto were walking and talking they almost said the same things as to what Jenna and Maggie were talking about.

But then Steele said, "Are you sure? I mean are you sure she likes me, Balto?"

"I'm pretty sure." replied Balto

"Okay, but it's just that I've never had a girlfriend this long before, most of them don't like me in the first place and others just say that I'm too boastful." said Steele unsure.

"Don't worry so much, Steele. She likes you, she likes you a lot, and she won't like you if you believe she doesn't like you." replied Balto seriously.

"Okay then Balto, I-I think you're right, so I'll trust you, this time," replied Steele.

The four dogs got back from their walk and entered the broiler room again. Steele was with Maggie and Balto was with Jenna again. They talked on their way in and then stopped talking.  Once again, Everyone either said hi, hey, or hello to them. Then Steele and Maggie laid down and nuzzled eachother and then fell asleep in a warm spot by the stove in the broiler room and drept together.  Then it was about 2:30 in the afternoon and they both woke up together and yawned together. They loved eachother so much that they did almost everything together such as, eating, walking, yawning, stretching, or even napping.

Maggie had a tiring day so she went back to the hotel early and rested there with her master where she could snore all she wanted without being embarrassed. Maggie told Steele that she would meet him in front of her hotel. Steele was very excited to be able to see his girlfriend, Maggie, again the next day.

It was the next day now and Maggie didn't show up. Steele waited more nervously than last time because she was late. Maggie didn't show up until 4:00 in the evening.

"Steele!... Steele!... I-I have...Great news!" said Maggie, she was panting between each breath she took.

"Why did you show up so late? you had me worried!" said Steele angry and worried at the same time.

"I'm sorry!" said Maggie still panting.

"You are forgiven, but what was that about good news?" asked Steele.

"Oh, right, I'm staying here permanently! I didn't show up sooner 'cause me and my master were moving to our new house!" Maggie told Steele excitedly.

"That's great! We can see eachother all of the time now!" said Steele.

"It's because my master got a job here, and his job is a good one, too. His new boss loves dogs so my master's boss allows me to come in to see my master!" said Maggie.

"Wow! Cool!" said Steele.

"My house is really close by yours, it's on Edison road, follow me, I'll show you it." said Maggie happily!

"Okay!" said Steele as he started to follow her.

The two dogs arrived at the house. It was a small one story house like all of the others but this house, compared to all of the other houses, it was the one that looked the most like a cabin, it had a backyard, not very big and covered with snow. It had a small mail box up front, too. Then a young man was coming out of the house with an empty box in his hand moving towards the moving truck in front of the house.

Steele thought the man was steeling Maggie's stuff. This made Steele want to attack but when Maggie heard a low growl from Steele she jumped on him, not letting him escape.

"What are you doing!?" asked Steele, "That man is steeling your stuff."

"That man is my master! and he is unloading our stuff" she told Steele trying to make him understand not to attack her master.

"Oh, I guess it's because I never met him before." said Steele embarrassed.

"It's okay, c'mon, I want you to meet him, and be nice, if he wants to pet you then let him" said Maggie seriously.

"Okay." said Steele, he would not disobey his girlfriend.

They both walked up to Maggie's master.  "Oh, hey girl. Who's your friend we got here?" Mikey chuckles and pets Steele. Mikey lifted up Steele's name tag on his collar, "Well, hey their, Steele, are you friends with my 'lil Maggie?"  Steele barked and his tail wagged friendly as to say, 'yes I am' to Mikey.  "Well now that we live here permanently, you two can become mates." Mikey told Steele.

Steele smiled shyly to Maggie's master in an honored look. Maggie smiled too and nuzzled Steele. Maggie was happy that they were bonding and liked eachother. Mikey then rubbed Steele on the head, which Steele enjoyed. "You to go on and have lots of fun now, and I trust you Steele to take care of Maggie." Mikey told them, and the two dogs ran off together.

It was dark now and Maggie was getting a little cold so they went together to the broiler room to see if anyone was there and to get Maggie warm.  There were still dogs in the broiler room to talk to and it was a lot warmer in there than outside. Balto and Jenna were there and so were many other dogs. When the two of them came in, Balto saw that they were freezing especially Maggie so Balto handed over a warm blanket to Steele so he could give it to Maggie.

"Th-th-thanks...B-Balto." said Steele, his teeth were chattering from the cold still, "H-he-here Ma-Maggie."

"Th-thanks St-Steele." Maggie took the blanket, covered herself, and kindly covered Steele also.

"Thanks M-Maggie." replied Steele, with his teeth not chattering as much now.

"You're welcome Steele." said Maggie, her teeth weren't chattering anymore.  They both smiled and took a nap together. It was only a 30 minute nap though because they were only going to warm themselves up and then get back to Maggie's master so he wouldn't worry and could trust Steele.

They both woke up about 30 minutes later, stretched, and yawned then they were on there way back to Maggie and her master's house.  It was snowing hard and Maggie got cold again so Steele carried her on his back to her house so her paws wouldn't freeze, her paws weren't made for the snow, and staying in it as long as she did.  Finally, Steele arrived at her house with Maggie on his back. Steele couldn't open doors but he needed to get inside fast, so he started to howl and scratch at the door.  Mikey came running to the door, wondering what was going on. As soon as Mikey got the chance to open the door Steele came bursting in.  The snow from outside was coming in and the wind blew Mikey's hair back when he tried to close the door and when Steele saw him struggling with the door, Steele set Maggie down and head butted the door forcing it to close.

After that there was snow almost everywhere by the front door, but Mikey didn't care, Maggie, his beloved dog, was half frozen. Mikey put her into two warm blankets, gave her some warm water to drink, and hugged her desperately to make her unfrozen. Steele nuzzled and cuddled with Maggie trying to make it better.  Soon, Maggie was unfrozen and moving about. Mikey fed food to both of the dogs.  Mikey had met Steele's owner before and called him on an old phone and told his owner not to worry and that Steele was over here and suggested that he stayed over here due to the weather conditions, and Steele's owner agreed to it, he didn't want to go into the cold outside and freeze anyway.

"Steele," whispered Mikey, and Steele listened to him, "You're a hero now."  Steele smiled and he felt very honored again. Then he started to nuzzle Maggie.  Steele spent the whole night over because the weather conditions didn't improve until the next day so they drept together happily.

The next day, Maggie got up first and looked outside the window. It was snowing lightly outside Maggie was excited about the snow.  She was so excited that she couldn't wait so she woke up Steele, waited for him to get done stretching, and then ran outside and frolicked in the snow like a deer in a meadow.

Although, Steele wasn't too excited about the snow, because he saw it fall almost every other day, but he didn't want to ruin Maggie's day so he pretended to like it as much as she did, too.  Maggie asked Steele, "The snow is getting a little boring, can we go to the broiler room today and meet with the other dogs around here, please?"

"Sure we can. Anything for you." said Steele being polite.

So the two dogs then ran over to the broiler room and saw almost all of the dogs of Nome in there. Everyone in there greeted them again like they always did when someone else came into the broiler room.  Steele and Maggie decided to sit over with Balto and Jenna. Steele and Maggie nuzzled eachother and laid down together.

"ehh, Maggie, I-I have something to ask you." said Steele.

"Yes?" asked Maggie.

"W-wiII you be my m-mate?" asked Steele. He was nervous and his voice was unsteady.

"Yes! I will be your mate Steele. I've been waiting for this moment." said Maggie happily to Steele.

"Thank you, Maggie! I never knew the when the right time came so I asked you here, and you said yes!" shouted Steele happily, "I've never had a mate before! thank you so much, Maggie!"

Then everyone in the broiler room, even Sylvia, cheered for them both. The two dogs then sat down and joined the others' conversation. about an hour later, the two dogs were bored of the conversation and decided to go for a walk again and invite Balto and Jenna.

"Sure we would be glad to come with you." Balto told them.

"Great then. Let's go." Said Steele and Maggie together.

The four dogs set out together, walking over to the woods. The dogs would walk and talk all the way there to where Nome and the forest met with eachother. That was where they stopped and rested. They all laid down on their backs and stared at the clouds above and fell asleep.

They all woke up soon and it was then about 4:30 in the evening. Balto suggested that they should start moving up towards a hill in the distance.

"We need to leave now if we want to catch a glimpse of the sunset, so let's go. Come on now." Balto said to the others and then the others followed Balto, Jenna was at his side and Maggie and Steele were next to eachother following close behind.  It was most likely to be around 5:00 now and the four dogs were halfway up the hill.

"Oh, this is so tiring." Maggie told Steele in her pain.

"I know, I know, but it will be worth it." Steele told her.

It was now about 5:30 and the four had made it up the steep hill all of the way to the top and there was probably only 20 more minutes left in the sunset though.

"Wow! You were right Steele, it was worth the climb up here." said Maggie amazed at the variety of oranges, reds and bright yellows just to get the color of the sunset.

"I told ya." Steele said smiling while looking at the colors, too. after the sunset was over they all fell asleep, but Balto and Steele stayed awake.

"Steele, follow me." Balto whispered softly to Steele.

"Okay." Steele whispered softly back to Balto.

Balto and Steele were heading a little ways down the hill and then stopped on a ridge to where no one could see them or hear them.

"The Northern Lights are going to show up tonight because it's not cloudy so it would be a treat for Jenna because this is what we did on our first date and it would be a treat for Maggie because she probably hasn't seen them before, you follow what I'm saying?" Balto told Steele.

"Yes, I see, it would be a treat for both of them!" Steele said trying not to talk too loud.

"Okay then, we will let them both sleep because of the tiring day for them, but we will have to stay up and wait for the right time so prepare yourself for a long night." Balto told Steele seriously in a way.

"All right, I'll try to stay awake, for Maggie." Steele told Balto.

"Okay follow me back up the hill, Steele." Balto commanded to Steele.

"Okay." said Steele, following his command.

Back up the hill, Maggie and Jenna were right there, sleeping. Steele slowly walked up to Maggie, sat down, and waited for the moment to happen. Balto did the same with Jenna, except Balto nuzzled her and then laid down waiting.  5 hours had gone by so far and Steele's eyes drooped but he just managed to be able to keep them open. Balto had no trouble keeping his eyes open because he had done this with Jenna many times before.

Suddenly it happened. The Northern Lights broke open into the sky. Steele was so stunned when it happened that he froze and just sat there staring. Balto wasn't stunned and he managed to wake Jenna up.

Balto saw Steele doing nothing so Balto had to smack him with his paw just to get his attention. "Steele! Wake Maggie up or she'll miss it!" shouted Balto.

"Okay. Maggie, Maggie, wake up or you will miss it." Steele said excited to Maggie.

"Miss wha-WOA! What's that stuff in the sky?" asked Maggie both excited and confused.

"It's the Northern Lights Maggie, I thought you might like them." Steele told her.

"they're beautiful Steele, I love it, thank you." Maggie told Steele sweetly.  With that, all of the dogs there got in their positions and watched the Northern Lights altogether. Steele and Maggie were huddling together as to Balto and Jenna were huddling together also.  At 3:00 in the morning all of the dogs were asleep. They all had fallen asleep on top of the hill while watching the Northern lights.

No one woke up until 7:30 or later because of the long night they had, especially Steele and Balto, but when they did wake up, they stretched, yawned, and started for the bottom of the hill. It took them almost 1 hour just to reach the bottom.  At the bottom, they started to make their way back to Nome by going to the forest where Nome and that forest met.

"Come on," shouted Balto to the others, "It's gotta be this way."

"Are you sure, Balto?" asked Steele, not wanting to get lost like he has done before.

"Yes, I'm sure." said Balto

"I hope I'm right." Balto thought to himself.

Balto was right, he had lead them to where Nome met with the forest.

"Steele, we have to hurry, my master will be mad at me for not coming in sooner!" Maggie told Steele, worried.

"Don't worry, I'll inform Balto on it." Steele told her.

"Balto!" shouted Steele, "Maggie needs to get home!"

"I know Steele, we all do." said Balto.

"No, it's because her master will get mad at her!" said Steele.

"Okay, we'll have to hurry then." said Balto.

The four dogs ran as fast as they could all the way to Maggie's house. Maggie was the first to get there. The others soon arrived, too. She scratched on the door, eager to get inside. Her master was the one to answer the door but when he greeted her, he was not mad at all, in fact, a little happier than usual.

"hey girl good to see ya." said Mikey while patting her on the head.  Maggie was confused, she wondered why her master was not mad or giving her a blow. "Guess what girl, I finished my report today and now, you can show me around town, I have the day off from work, too." Mikey told her happily, "Hey, who are your new friends here?" Balto wasn't wearing a color and Jenna didn't have a name tag so he was left unsure, but the looks on their faces said they wouldn't hurt him so he pet them, too.

The other dogs left and told Maggie they would be at the broiler room and told her to catch up with them later. Maggie began to whimper to him. "Don't worry girl, I know why you were out so late, I figure that you and Steele are mates. Is that true girl, are you?" asked Mikey.

Maggie wagged her tail, licked his face, and barked happily as if to say, 'yes' excitedly.  "Okay girl, I'm going to see if I can buy Steele from his owner, would you like that, would ya girl?" asked Mikey.  Maggie licked his face again as if to say, 'yes' again.  "Okay Magster, I'll go ask Steele's owner about it." said Mikey.

With that, Mikey took Maggie outside and they walked over to Steele's house and talked with Steele's owner. While he was doing that, Maggie decided to sneak away and tell Steele the great news at the broiler room.  When she arrived at the broiler room she walked in and of course everyone greeted her.  Her best friends, Balto and Jenna, were there and so was her mate, Steele.

Maggie walked up to Steele and said, "Steele! Guess what!"

"What?" said Steele with a puzzled look.

"You are going to live with me soon!" Maggie said more excited than ever.

"Really! How though?" asked Steele.

"My owner is buying you right now as we speak! Come on!" She shouted still excited.

"Okay!" yelled Steele running after her, excited as much as she was herself.

They both ran out of the broiler room and to Steele's house. There was Mikey, standing around waiting for Maggie to come back, with a paper in his hand.

"There you are girl. He's ours' now, I own him, here are his papers to prove it." said Mikey very sternly to Maggie.

Maggie and Steele were filled with joy, in fact overjoyed. The two dogs ran off together to the broiler room to tell everyone about the great news. Balto and Jenna were the first to know, and then the word spread like a wild fire. Maggie and Steele didn't care though, they even wanted everyone to know.

Maggie and Steele were done making conversation so they left the broiler room together to find Maggie and Steele's master along the way with a shopping bag in his hand. "Hey guys, I'm buying you, Steele, some new stuff since you will be living with us." Mikey told his two dogs.

They all walked home together, Steele, Maggie, and their owner, Mikey.  When they all got home together, Maggie laid down on her fluffy bed while Steele and Mikey sat down on the rug laid on the floor boards. Mikey started to open up the shopping bag he was holding earlier.  In the shopping bag, Mikey pulled out a couple of cans full of dog food, A bowl customized with Steele written on it, a 'squeeze me' dog toy, and two large bones, one for Maggie and one for Steele. When Maggie saw the bones come out of the bag she got excited and got up to see the bones up close.

Mikey gave Maggie her bone and went into the kitchen with everything else that was in the shopping bag, Steele followed him. Maggie started chewing on her bone and didn't want to wait to start it later. Maggie loved bones a lot, a whole lot.  In the kitchen, where Steele and Mikey were, Mikey was puting away the cans of dog food, puting Steele's bowl on the ground, taking the plastic off of the 'squeeze me' dog toy, puting the dog toy away, and giving Steele his bone.  Steele then walked out of the kitchen looking for a place to sleep will the bone still in his mouth.

"Oh, sorry Steele, the shop where I got this stuff was fresh out of dog beds, don't worry though, they'll have more tomorrow." said Mikey.  Steele's smile turned into a frown quickly.

"I promise I'll pick one up for you tomorrow, Steele." said Mikey trying to make Steele feel better, "here's a pillow and a blanket, I'm sorry but that's all I have right now and if you don't like it, you're just gonna have to deal with it tonight until tomorrow."

Steele laid down on the pillow and blanket and chewed on his bone.

"Well, I guess it's better than sleeping outside. " Steele told himself.

Mikey started a fire in the old fireplace to keep warm and then went to his room to change into what he wore to bed, a night shirt, socks, and boxers. He grabbed an Auto Trader magazine, sat in his big chair and began reading the magazine by the fire.  Mikey had finished the magazine that he had been reading for the past hour. Maggie had finished her bone and had gone to go to sleep. Steele hadn't finished his bone but went to sleep anyway. Mikey saw that the two of his dogs were sleeping so he got a little pale of water and dumped it on the fire and the fire went out. Mikey got in his own bed and went to sleep himself.

The next morning, Maggie and Steele weren't the first to awake, it was Mikey who had gotten up early. He had gotten the mail to read later, and he was puting the dogs' food into separate bowls which made a good sent for the dogs.

"Maggie! Steele! Your breakfasts are ready," shouted Mikey to the two sleeping dogs.  Maggie awoke quickly like she always did but Steele did not come right away. Maggie chowed down on her food and was done before Steele had even gotten up.

She went into the other room where Steele was, and told him, "Get up! Your breakfast is ready." She waited more and finally said, "I'm trying to say it sweetly but it's disturbing when there's a bowl of food in front of you!"

Steele finally decided to listen so he got up and went for the kitchen. He came back short after.

Maggie asked him, "Can we go outside today, like right now?"

"Yes, sure we can." replied Steele.

"Yippee!" she shouted with joy, and waited for him to yawn and stretch. Then they walked outside into the snow.

"Oh, I know! Let's go to the broiler room again today!" Maggie said excitedly to Steele.

"Okay. "Steele told her.

The two dogs left for the broiler room again. When they arrived, the dogs in there had greeted them. Balto and Jenna were there as they always were.  Maggie and Steele laid down together in a warm blanket. Steele smiled. Maggie was happy, so he had nothing to worry about. He put his head down and the two of them fell asleep dreaming happily.

The End
