Kiara (a poem)
By Malli

Kiara loved to pounce and play,
especially on a bright spring day.
Simba was her father and the king,
he taught her about everything.
Like to be fair to everyone,
to work together, that "we are one".

When an Outlander, Kovu, became her friend,
Simba wanted the friendship to end.
Later there was a war between the families,
then Kiara jumped in and asked for peace.
She said "although Kovu is an Outlander's son,
don't you remember that 'we are one'"?

"I love Kovu, don't you see?
Can't we make a friend out of an enemy?"
But Kovu's mother, Zira, would not agree to that way,
then she died beneath the watery waves.
Kovu was sad, but there was joy too,
that Kiara could be with her true love Kovu.

The peace between the families had finally begun,
They had all learned that "we are one".
Simba's father Mufasa looked from on high,
as the sun shined brightly from the sky.
The spirit said, "I'm proud of you, son,
you have taught them all that we are one."
