Chapter 2: A twist of fate Here is another chain of Zell's adventures. Please forgive me if I make you confused because there are so many lions I have to keep track of. I can't make Zell or Simba die cause someone doesn't want me to kill them... I don't either... But you all know that they have to die someday... This part is kind of getting hard for me because I am making the rest of the story dramatic without wanting to, although I didn't mean it... To those who want some more of my stories can e-mail me and I will make a story for them on request. You have two choices, me to post it here, or a specially made short story for you only? [pouncing at nothing] Kovu: Hehe, you almost got it. But you really shouldn't do this while you're pregnant you know. Kiara: I know... But I really want to be good at hunting. Kovu: Yeah.... Have you thought of a name yet? I couldn't think of any... Kiara: [Nuzzling beside Kovu] Me too... Kovu: [passionately returning the nuzzle] I wonder... Kiara: [breaks away] Whats wrong? Kovu: Your dad has not yet returned... I'm worried Kiara: Me too.... How has he been training you? Kovu: As a king? It's great, there were alot of things I didn't know... It was all fascinating... Did he teach you anything as queen? Kiara: Dad was trying to find time to teach me, I ran away on adventures, but eventually, either Uncle Zell or dad will catch me. Dad taught me about the circle of life, that we are connected to the circle. Dad taught me loads of things... Uncle Zell taught me the physicals. How to run, leap, pounce... But he never got time to teach me how to hunt... Kovu: Tell me, why is it that Zell is so..... Mysterious? Kiara: I don't know how to explain it, he is fun loving, just like my father. I know, my father is a kill joy but when I was older, I understood and found out he is pretty cool just like my Uncle. Dad said that Zell used to cry at night sometimes... I don't know if that is true but.... It's weird Kovu: Zell cries at night? Kiara: Dad said that I should respect him, he has been through a lot and he wants his family to be safe... I heard that Uncle got accused of murder a lot of times... That is very hard don't you think? Kovu: Yeah.... I can't believe that happened... Kiara: Lets go back to Pride Rock Kovu: Sure [starts walking towards Pride Rock] Kiara: [wals along] Kovu: So, About your hunting, your breathing has improved a lot Kiara: Thanks! Kovu: Remember the first hunting lesson? Kiara: haha! Yeah... Kovu: I got it! Kiara: What!? Kovu: The name for our cubs! Kiara: [chuckles] Yeah? Kovu: How is Hodari if it is a boy? Kiara: I like it.... But how about a girl? How does Thiari sound? Kovu: Great! Kiara: Well! That solves our problems! Kovu: Not quite... *Rustle* Kiara: What was that!? Kovu: [chuckles] It's only Vitani with Nala Kiara: [seeing the two lioness's emerge] Hi Vitani! Hi Mom! Nala: Hi, are we disturbing something? Kovu: No, not at all Vitani: Wassup? Kiara: [laughs] Fine Kovu: Since when did you use slang? Vitani: Like, when I moved here? It's pretty cool in the Pride Lands... Nala's been showing me the place Nala: And you didn't turn out so bad after all Kiara: So, mom, have you heard from dad? Nala: [looks down] He'll be back Kiara: [dropping the subject] Anyway-- Hean: Hello! [leaping out of nowhere] Kovu: Was everyone following us? Hean: Nah, I just stopped by looking for you Kovu Kovu: What is it? Hean: [lowering his tone] Well....... We kind of have a situation here... Kiara: My, this is serious... Nala: Bad news? Hean: I'm not sure Vitani: Lets start with the bad of it. Hean: Okay, here goes... Adui is here Kiara: WHAT!? Nala: What about Zell and Simba! They were supposed to be here by now! Did you th-- Hean: Ummm... The good news is he is sitting like an angel on the base of pride rock apologising.... Vitani: Adui... I've heard that name before.... Oh yeah! I heard Zell shouting his name during that battle. Kovu: That can't be him! Hean: It is him! Whatever, just go hear what he says! Adui: That wont be necessary [walking out from behind Kovu] Kovu: [faces Adui and Snarls in warning] Don't come near us! Adui: Hmph! Well, in that case.... [steps back] Kovu: [confused] Where is Zell and Simba!? Adui: They are fine, I think they are in the leap lands by now. Kovu: Why are you here!? Adui: Well, I just wanted to tell you guys that Zell is safe and whatever. Kiara: Since when did you start caring? Adui: It's a long story, but in other words, Zell and I are frien-- Kovu: Why should we believe you! Nala: You almost killed Zell! Adui: That was a long time ago, he somehow talked to me and made me realise the truth. Anyway, I'd better be going, I feel......... discomfort [walks away] Hean: Freaky........... Kovu: What is he up to? Vitani: It seems have missed out a lot..... Zazu: [fly's in] What happened!? I saw Adui and-- Nala: Wer're fine Zazu Zazu: Oh... okay Kovu: Oh yeah, any news? Zazu: Oh, I completely forgot! Sorry, here is the news.... This will probably please you the most. Animals reported Simba's and Zell's return... Kiara: I thought that Zell wanted to help Ziana and Msafiri. Zazu: ....... Oops.... Yeah, you're right. Then I guess it will only be Simba, he is expected to be back this afternoon. I'm not sure... Conversation continues ~Simba's half~ ~Mid-mountain, Leap lands~ Simba: Zell, are you sure? Zell: Ziana, are you REALLY sure? Ziana: Yes dad... We decided that we wouldn't be able to raise our cub in poor condition so we plan to give birth to him or her in Pride rock together with Kiara's cub. Simba: So does this mean that we will go back home? Msafiri: As good as it is gonna be... Marina: So, Zell, I guess you are about to leave? Zell: I wish I could stay a little bit more but our pride awaits Maina: I understand, well, I guess you'd better be off Zell: Bye! Msafiri: Thanks Marina, I feel much better Ziana: See ya! Simba: It's been a pleasure talking to you, bye All four lions run back to the Pride Lands in a couple of hours. ~Pride Rock~ Simba: [walking up] We're back! Ana: [walking out of the cave together with Kiara, Nala and Kovu] ZELL! [runs to Zell and nuzzles him] Zell: Hi.... Kiara: Hey Ziana! Nala: Simba! You're back, I knew you would. Simba: As always Kovu: Heeeyy! Big guy [referring to Zell] How long has it been? One week? Zell: Heh, yeah. I guess one week is enough for me to miss this place. Ana: I was so worried, I didn't know what to do... I wake up finding my husband gone, then find my daughter and her new husband gone... Zell: I am sorry.... I promise not to leave you again Ana: I know.... It's just [chokes] Zell: Simba, I'll walk around with Ana, I'll be back Ana: [nods] Simba: Okay. Hean: We've got some news, but we will hold it. Kiara: Yeah.. Ziana: Why? What happened? Kiara: Let's wait for Msafiri and Zell... They might have some answers. Simba: Curiouser and curiouser... Zazu! Zazu: [flying off from a nearby tree] Yes sire? Simba: Any reports? Zazu: No, and the important ones are going to be discussed later. Voice: And look who is all grown up! Simba: That... Timon!? Pumbaa: So, Simba. Where is the.... Well! Simba: You mean Zell? Pumbaa: Oh yeah.. Zell Timon: Yeah, haven't seen him since he died. And Pumbaa, you can't bring someone dead back to life. Simba: Zell is not dead! Well, he said he did when he was slashed by Zira trying to protect me but he lived again. He's with Ana right now. Ziana: [yawn] Maybe I'll take a nap... Kiara: Me too... I feel soo tired.... Nala: It's just noon! Kiara: But mom, I think its due to pregnancy? Nala: Oh yes.... Ziana: Maybe we'll sleep for a short while. ~Zell's half~ ~Gorge~ Zell: [licking Ana] I'm sorry... Ana: [nuzzling Zell] Zell: [closes his eyes] This feeling... Ana: Yes? Zell: It is like the first time we went moon gazing. Ana: Yeah... Zell: I will never leave your side again... Cause I love you and I want you to be safe... Ana: Just make sure Ziana and Msafiri are safe first.. Zell: This place is so eerie... Ana: Why? Zell: Memories... This is where my father died... Where Zell the lion with his brother Simba got exiled.... This is... my life... Ana: Zell..... You keep grasping the past... let it go... [crying] let it go... Don't blame yourself... Let it go..... Zell: [crying too] [nuzzles Ana] I am trying... ~Msafiri's Half~ Kovu: So you just took Ziana like that? Msafiri: Well, I didn't know that she belonged to Pride Rock and she was caught in a wild fire and she was --- Kovu: Amazingly pretty? Msafiri: [laughs] Yeah Kovu: One hit knock out. It was hard for me adjusting after I married Kiara. There were so many rules to keep, so many duties... Msafiri: We both are kings, duties... Hah! Kovu: Whats so funny? Msafiri: I don't do duties Kovu: Then why are you king? Msafiri: My lands have withered, I plan to wait for it to recover. You ask why I am king for not doing my duties? I'll tell you Kovu: Listening Msafiri: Duties, who told you to do this and that? Are you king because someone told you to? No, it is a right, being king also means duties. I don't do them, if someone tells you to command this party you do it, why? Because someone asked you to? Kovu: Whats your point? Msafiri: I am the king, and my will power is stronger than duties. Will comes from the heart, not from any ones orders. I have noticed this between Zell and Simba. Thats why I admire both of them. If Simba asked Zell to do something, Zell does it. Zell could easily say no but his will is to help Simba, he loves him and will forever protect him. Kovu: You do know a lot. Msafiri: Okay, how about another example? When you met Kiara, what did you think? Kovu: I thought.... [covers face] That she was another one of the stupid Pride Landers who I will kill later.... Msafiri: Exactly, Zira's hat has sealed your will, you didn't know yourself, you were lost... Kovu: I guess you are all correct... Am I doing things by will? Msafiri: [laugh] Kiara told me that you were supposed to Kill Simba and then Zell right? But in the end you didn't why? Because Kiara found your will and revealed it to you, Scar was evil, you didn't know that. If you knew this you would never have done it. You do things by will also, did you know that? Kovu: .....No, not really... Msafiri: [laughs] If someone attacks Kiara, what would you do? Kovu: I'll protect her! Msafiri: Did someone tell you to? Is it your mission or duty to? Kovu: Of course not! Msafiri: There you go [smiles] Kovu: You help out alot... Msafiri: Hey, I may be a traveller, but I am a king after all... Later--- ~Zell's Half~ Zell: So, Simba, what are we here for again? Simba: Beats me, Hean and the others have somthing to say Hean: Yeah, is everyone here? Kiara: Yeah Kovu: We are all here, just get on with it Msafiri: What's going on? Hean: Okay, okay.... Adui came here Simba: What! Zell: Really? What did he want? Ana: Zell... No Hean: He wanted to apologise, for attacking you, wanting to kill you, which he still wants to do... Zell: [laughs] Thats it? No problem, we're friends! Hean: What!? Really? Ana: What happened? Simba: Listen! Zell! He is just tricking you! Zell: Maybe I know that... Maybe I don't he helped us fight off the tigers remember? Ana: Tigers? Zell: Long Story Simba: Zell.... I'm sorry, but I can't allow you to go near him. Zell: [groans] Whaaat? Simba: Nor go out without an escort Kiara: That sounds very familiar. Simba: [ignorning Kiara] Is that clear? Zell: C'mon! I can handle myself. Ana: Listen to him Zell... Zell: [looks at everyones faces from Kiara to Msafiri noticing them in agreement] Ohh! Alright already! Geez..... [walks in the cave] Kiara: [runs in catching up with Zell] Wait up! Zell: [while walking] Yeah!? Kiara: Hey, I know you're upse-- [seeing Zell shove away some stones at the end of the cave ( Same escape route )] Zell: See ya! Kiara: Hey! No! Zell: Don't worry! [squeezing out] I'll be back! Kiara: [hears the sound of running] Kovu: [walks beside Kiara] Don't tell me... Kiara: He did Kovu: To be expected Kiara: Shall we tell? 'Kovu: Lets give him a head-start Kiara: [walks out of the cave] Simba: So? Nala: Is he alright? Kiara: He is gone Simba: Oh.... I shouldn't have... Maybe I'll talk to him-- Kiara: No! Not gone in the inside! I mean... GONE! Disappeared! Simba: What!? But How? Kiara: Don't know Hean: HE might be looking for Adui! Simba: Everyone split up! Ziana, Kiara, stay here! [runs off with Ana, Hean, Msafiri, Nala and Kovu in random directions] Kiara: ..... No fair Ziana: Tell me about it. ~Zell's Half~ ~Elephant Graveyard~ Zell: Adui? You're here right? Adui: Well, about time you showed up, how did you know I was going to be here? Zell: I know your taste. Adui: Thanks. Zell: Okay, whats your business? Adui: Lets..... Zell: Fight? Adui: [smiles] Spar? Zell: Bring it on! ~Simba's Half~ Simba: [panting] I've looked everywhere... Hean: [runs next to Simba] Not in the gorge Simba: He's not in the outlands either Msafiri: [walks infront of Simba and Kovu] Not anywhere I've been Hean: Let's check the elephant graveyard Hean: Of course! Msafiri: Lets hurry up! My father in law is in danger! [runs] Hean: Right behind you! [Simba and Hean run along Msafiri] ~Zell's half~ Zell: Whoah! [steps back] Adui: What's the matter? Too weak? Zell: You know, it's strange how 'rivals' get to kill their 'rivals' Adui: Hey, at least you took it as sparring. Zell: [chuckles] You are not giving it all you got. Adui: And so are you Zell: I still don't get why we have to fight! Adui: You are my rival... Not enemies anymore...at least, but don't think that will give you a life pass! Zell: [panting] You just never change. Adui: [pounces at Zell and pins him down] Zell: Ugh.... [tries to move his hind legs but gets pinned down by Adui's hind legs] Adui: Hah! Pinned you! Finally! Zell: .....Can't move! [struggles harder] [gives up] Too weak.... Adui: Haha! Guess I finally won you! I will not leave till I do what I came here for! Zell: No! You're crazy! Adui: [hits Zell on the face hard with his paw knocking him dead] ~~~~ Just Kidding! I guess you can call it an expression : ) Thought he died? Here is a change of it-- Adui: [hits Zell on the face hard knocking him unconscious] ~~~~ Simba: Now! Simba, Hean and Msafiri leaps out Adui: Well, say thanks to your brother when he wakes up! I finally got rid of my hate... See ya! [runs away] Simba: .......... Msafiri: What did he mean by that? Hean: [walks to Zell] Wow! ............. This is.... Simba: What happened!? [runs over Zell's body] Hean: There is a lot of scratches than last time... remember? Simba: He's had a tough fight... [puts his head under Zell's arm] Msafiri: [walks up and does the same to the other arm] LEt's bring him back to Pride Rock Simba: [walks dragging Zell with the help of Msafiri] ~~Ziana's Half~~ Kiara: I can't believe I am going to be a mother! Ziana: Me too! I mean, I am not so serious in beinng queen yet! Kiara: Yeah, I still prefer to have fun rather than ruling. By the way, when are you going back to the T-Lands? Ziana: Maybe in a year.... Zazu: [fly's in] Ziana! Your father has arrived! He doesn't look well at all! Kiara: Ziana.... Ziana: Thanks Kiara, I can handle it.. .. [runs out] ~Zell's Half~ Zell: [gasping constanly breathing hard] [on the floor] Simba: Zell! Stay with me! Zell: N.not...dying! Scr-scratches! [loses breath and tries to regain it] Hurts! Ziana: Dad! [running into view] Are you alright? Zell: [no response, breathe's harder] Msafiri: Adui did something to him Zell: N-no, j-just exhaustion...... after that last blow everything went numb Hean: You'll be alright! Ana, Nala and Kovu: [enters running] Ana: ZELL! [moves over Zell's body] Are you alright!? Nala: What happened? Kovu: I'll call Rafiki! Simba: No, Zazu, fly ahead. Kovu, we might need you and Zazu fly's faster. Kovu: So, what happened? Simba: He overstrained himself, he can't control his breathing and he is very weak now. He has to recover. Msafiri: Zell, you should slow down now. You're getting old. Zell: [calms breathing and then breathes hard again] I- know... I'll just go to sleep now..... [tries standing up] Simba: Zell, we'll carry you. Zell: I know you will have to make me, I can't argue... Fine, can you take me to the cave? Simba: Sure.... [carries Zell] [addresses Kovu] Need help here Kovu: Yeah... [helps carry Zell] ~Cave~ Kiara: [runs to greet the coming lions] Uncle! Are you alright!? Simba: He can't talk very much now, he pushed himself over the limit. [sets Zell down] Kiara: [looks at Zell] I'm sorry... It was my fault... Ziana: What do you mean? Kiara: I let him go. Simba: What? Ziana: Dad! I let him go! I saw him escape, I approved.... Simba: Ki-- Zell: [weakly] Not her fault, just let it be. I am alright, no harm done Simba: [scoffs] Not hurt!? Zell: [shrugs] Go figure Ziana: Just get some rest. Zell: I'm alright! Really, just exhausted. I guess I will rest now.... Ana: Okay, everyone out.... Simba: B-- Nala: That means you too Simba! [chuckles] Simba: Okay.... [leaves with Hean, Kovu, Nala, Kiara, Ziana, Msafiri and Ana] Zell: [thought] Why the heck is everyone worried about me? [sleeps] ~Simba's Half~ ~Walking alone in the grasslands~ Simba: Zell, so careless! Timon: [walking out of a bush] Hey buddy! Simba: Hi Timon: Heard about Zell.... Simba: I just don't get it! Timon: Me too, but I guess it's for a good reason. Simba: Yeah... Where's Pumbaa? I rarely see you two apart. Pumbaa: Right behind You! Simba: [turns around, not startled] Oh, hi! Timon: Loosen up will ya! Zell is your older brother! Simba: Like, he is just five minutes older than me! Pumbaa: Why are you so concerned about Zell? Timon: Buddy, you can talk to us anytime! Simba: Well.... Pumbaa: It can't be bad can it? Simba: No, It's just we've been through the same thing all of our lives! I can't imagine if he died..... I would feel.... Alone.... Timon: ............ [???] Pumbaa: You've got us Simba: I know but.... I will never find someone like him. Ever! Timon: Hey Simba, why not take a swim? just cool down for a sec huh? You are working too hard. What's it like to be king anyway? Simba: ...... I'd better go, see you guys at Pride Rock.... I will walk around some more... [walks away] Timon: [watching the lion walk away] Simba: [takes a deep breath] Yeah.... I guess I need to relax.... [reaches the wilds] Antelope: Good Afternoon sire! [bowing] Simba: [thinking, trying to take Zell's example of being casual] No need to bow, just we are all equal. [chuckles] Thanks anyway, hope your group find great grazing areas. Antelope 1: Thanks Simba: [walks on] Antelope 2: Good morning your majesty! Simba: Call me Simba, don't feel like being formal today. [smiles] I hope you are well Antelope 2: I am fine, I heard about your brother... I am sorry Simba: I just don't get it, he is so mysterious. Antelope 2: Let me tell a wise saying of the grasslands. Simba: Yes? Antelope 2: It is pretty simple, He lives in you Simba: Huh? Antelope 2: Your brother, he is part of your soul. Your father, he is you. Simba: [remembering Zell's conversation about this] Oh... Like how? Antelope 2: Well, Zell is your adventurous side, he is the one who guides you, am I right? Simba: Yeah... Antelope 2: Understand him. As I said, he is your adventurous side, what difference are you? Both of you are EXACTLY the same. Simba: [smiles] Thanks... I guess I'd better get going now... Thank you. Antelope 2: It has been a pleasure talking to you.... Simba Simba: [smiles]See ya! [runs off] ~Two months later~ ~Pride Rock, grasslands~ Zell: Simba! Simba: Hey! Zell: There you are! I've been looking all over for you! Simba: Yeah, why? Zell: Nothing Simba: [smiles] at least it is not trouble Zell: [shrugs] Nah, just wanna walk around with my brother. Simba: I feel proud being your brother. Just the sound of you calling me that makes me feel good. Zell: I know what you mean. It's like a great honor, you're such a great guy, well, except when you start acting like a kill joy Simba: [chuckles] Had to be done Zell: Anyway, it's not long before we become grandparents Simba: Here goes another break down mystery. Actually that would be Msafiri's and Kovu's Problem now! [laugh] Zell: [laugh] It won't be long till we die. Like around 3 years or more Simba: Yeah... Kovu seems ready to be king Zell: He is, Msafiri and Ziana is bound to leave Pride Rock after raising their cub ~~~~ Note: On Kiara's and Ziana's birth. It took Nala and Ana 4 months. Never mind about these mis-date thingy okay? ~~~~ Simba: Do you think I should step down? Zell: Soon... Not now though... You will know when the time is right. Simba: What do you mean? Zell: I don't know [not knowing that Simba and himself were venturing deeper into the unexplored lands of Prdie Rock] It will hit you soon. Simba: Okay.. Zell: Where are we? Simba: I don't know... I'm sure we're still in the Pride Lands. Zell: Let's just head back. [truning around and walks] Simba: Yeah... Sure Zell: Oh..... Simba: What? Zell: Nothing... I was just thinking the days when we were cubs... I can't believe I am now big. Simba: Me too... It is almost too quick. Zell: Last minute you are a cub and then-- Simba and Zell: You blinked Simba: [laugh] Zell: [laughing] Both lions walk home ~Msafri's Half~ ~Cave~ Ziana: [lying down] Oww! Msafiri: [nuzzling Ziana] It is alright... Our cub is coming probably by tommorow morning. Ziana: I am so nervous... It would hurt alot Msafri: [licking her] I love you.... Ziana: Msafiri.... [licks him] Me too... Msafiri: [lies down beside her] You are going to be a mother... Ziana: [sleepily] Mmm-hmm, you are going to be a father... Msafiri: Get some sleep Ziana: [Sleeping] Msafiri: [rests his head on his paws] Ana: [enters] So, how is she? Msafiri: Nervous Ana: [smiles] Yeah... Zell and I were nervous too. When is your cub being expected? Msafiri: Tomorrow morning. Ana: I can't wait! Nala: [enters] Come on Ana... I'm sure you two might want to rest and be alone Ana: [agrees with Nala] Yeah, I'll leave you two alone Msafiri: Thanks Ana: If you ever need advice or company, just ask any one of us Msafiri: Yeah... Nala: Lets go Ana. Ana: [leaves with Nala] Msafiri: [snuggles closer to Ana] ~Moyo's Half~ In the Pride Lands, an female adolescent, running, bleeding and being chased by two male lions. Moyo: Please.... [as she runs] Leave me alone! Lion 1: Come back here! We had a deal! Lion 2: You are coming with us for ever and ever and ev-- Moyo: SHUT UP! Lion 2: Why you insolent ***** Lion 1: You won't have a chance! Moyo: You guys are all talk! [tries to run faster] ~Zell and Simba's Half~ Zell: Where are we now? Simba: I don't know! Geez, I can't believe we are lost in our own lands! Zell: I know! [laugh] Simba: What is so funny? Zell: Nothing! [continues laughing] It's just that it is weird that we are lost in a place we have been before! Simba: I don't get it....... Whatever Moyo: LOOK OUT! [charges into Zell] Zell: Whoa! [gets off balance] Moyo: Sorry! [runs] Simba: Hey! Wait! [blocks her path with his body] Moyo: Please! Let me go! Zell: [stands up] Hey, whats wrong? Lion 1: Hey! You two! Simba: Us? If you are here to kill this lioness, I reccomend you to get out! Lion 2: And you are!? Simba: [growls] Simba! Zell: And I am Zell Lion 1: Zell.... I know you are bluffing! Lion 2: We are giving you one last chance! Move and give that creep and live or we will GET that creep and die Zell: You guys are so pathetic! Simba: Go home! Lion 1: [pounces at Simba] Simba: [roars and pushes him off leading him into a fight] Zell: You alright Simba? Simba: .... [smiles] Check Mate! Zell: I will go on this one!
