The Lion King The New Friends by Kacie It was morning. Simba has just awaken. He waited until his parents, Mufasa and Sarabi, woke up before wandering off."Dad!Wake up! It's morning.", Simba told his dad."Come, on. Let's see what Simba wants, Mufasa.", Sarabi said. Mufasa seemed to refuse to get up. Finally, he woke up when Simba bit his ear."Alright! Alright! I'm up! I'm up!", he said softly. He remembered that he had promised Simba that they would go around the kingdom. He and Simba went outside later that morning."Dad, were there any animals existing before us?If so, were some of them bigger than us?", asked Simba. Mufasa thought a bit. He answered,"Yes, I guess so. I don't know much about the past, Simba. None of us do.""Oh. Okay."Meanwhile, Littlefoot and his pals were in the Great Valley. They played and played."I love this place. It's so beautiful and safe. Right, Cera?", asked Littlefoot. "Yep. No sharpteeth allowed here.", answered Cera. Spike was doing what he usually does. Eat. Ducky was at home with her mother. And Petrie was with Littlefoot and Cera. They thought nothing could go wrong."Littlefoot, Cera has to come home now. It's almost time for lunch.", said Cera's dad."Okay. Good-bye, Cera.", said Petrie and Littlefoot."Good-bye", said Cera. She then ran off the her dad to go eat. Littlefoot, Spike, and Petrie decided to go home. At the meantime at Pride Rock, Simba and his father were talking. All of a sudden, an earthquake began. It was the strongest at Pride Rock. Everyone started to scream."We're all gonna diiiieeeee!!!!", yelled Scar and Sarafina."Calm down, everyone! Just stay inside and away from everything.", Mufasa ordered. Simba and Nala screamed really loud. They ran and ran around. Unfortanly, the earthshake caused the ground to split open. Nala and Simba were right on the crack!"Help!", screamed the cubs. Everyone came running up to help them, but the whole pride fell into the crack.So did their human friend, Chad. They screamed and screamed until they finally hit bottom. Mysteriously, there was light ahead."Should we go out there?It doesn't look safe.", asked Nala."Yes, but we should be careful.", Sarabi announced. At the same time, Littlefoot was given permission to explore the Great Valley. But he had to stay close to the herds. He wandered around. Simba was also given this permission to explore, but he had to be careful. He heard a noise in the bushes. He whispered to himself,"Whatever it it, it's gonna be my food."He leapt into the bushes. He found himself face- to-face with some strange creature with a long tail, long neck, boxy head, flat teeth, and elephant-like feet."Aaaaa!!!", they both screamed. They, at first, circled each other. Their mouths were wide open. Then, Simba started to growl at the creature. The creature growled back. They started to fight. Little did they know they were being watched by mean eyes. It was a hyena, who had also fallen down with 20 other hyenas. While Simba and the strange, new creature were fighting, the hyena, whose name was Shenzi, leapt at the two. They screamed and ran. Simba slashed Shenzi, but she struck and stunned the cub! Then, Littlefoot, the creature Simba fought with, came up and used his defenses. He whipped his long tail again and again at the sharptooth. She finally gave up and ran. Littlefoot went up the strange creature and nugged it. Trying to wake it up. The creature finally woke up."Aaaaaa!", it yelled. Simba looked around to find the creature looking at him with friendly eyes, but he couldn't see the hyena."Hey, you! Where's the hyena? And what are you and your name?", demanded Simba. Littlefoot was shocked, but he anwered."The hyena is gone because I fought her off. I'm a longneck. My name is Littlefoot.", Littlefoot told the animal."Thanks for your help. I'm Simba.", said Simba. Littlefoot and Simba told each other about themselves. They quickly became friends. Meanwhile, Simba's pride and Littlefoot's tiny herd, his grandpa and grandma, went searching for them. When they found them, they went to protect their young one."Leave the Great Valley!You sharpteeth aren't allowed here!!!", yelled Littlefoot's grandpa."No!!! We will stay as long as we are stuck here! These lands belong to Mufasa starting today!!", yelled Scar. He went to Simba, picked him up and took him back to the others. Littlefoot's grandma picked up Littlefoot and took him home."Simba, he is not one of us. You must be careful. We told you to be.", Mufasa scolded."But dad---", Simba protested."Not buts, Simba. You broke your promise.", said Sarabi.,"You can't go outside for one day!"Simba and Littlefoot haven't seen each other for 3 years. Littlefoot and Simba grew up apart. They went to the exact same position they were in when they first met. "Aaaaaa", Simba roared. He and Littlefoot hadn't reconized each other. Then, Littlefoot reconized the lion."Simba?", he asked."Littlefoot? You have grown so big!", answered Simba. They were delighted to see each other. But, again, their family showed up."I thought I told you to stay away from him!",yelled Littlefoot's grandpa and Simba's dad."Dad, I am an adult. So is my friend. His name is Littlefoot.", said Simba. At this point, both sides were surprised that these two were "friends"."Simba, you can't be serious.", protested Nala."You bet your life he is. We've been friends for a while. I saved his life!If it weren't for me, he would have died from a "hyena" attack.", Littlefoot screamed. Then, the sides became friendly with each other withen days. Littlefoot's herd showed Simba's pride around. Littlefoot's childhood friends, Cera, Ducky, Spike, and Petrie, came up to meet the "lions''. They all lived peacefully together for months. Then, something happened. While they were talking, hundreds of cheetahs and leopards and hyenas appeared!"Well,well. If it isn't the sauropod that gave me this scar.", said Shenzi. Littlefoot reconized this enemy and started to growl. He told the enemies that they stand no chance against the Great Valley herds. The leopards, cheetahs, and the hyenas told them they will be back."Littlefoot, are you sure we can fight them?", asked Spike."Spike, you know we can", answered Littlefoot and Scar. They prepared for battle the next day. The enemies showed up. The fight began. Members from both sides got hurt. Then, when Littlefoot least expected it, 3 hyenas leapt on his back and bit his backbone as hard as they could! Suddenly, Simba jumped and fought to protect his dinosaur friend. He won. But when he turned to Littlefoot, he was lying down as if he had fallen unconsious. "Littlefoot!", yelled everyone as soon as the fight was over. Littlefoot woke up, but he was still in great pain."Get our human friend, Chad, here quick!", yelled Sarafina. Chad appeared five minutes later with the A.I.D kit. He went up to Littlefoot's wound and fixed it."There we are. That oughta do.", said Chad."Thank you, Chad", Littlefoot said almost weakly. It took him 3 weeks for the wound to heal, but it healed okay. The two groups grew to know and like each other. They didn't want to be separated. But, the lions knew that they couldn't stay. They had to find a way back. They decided to return home. "Okay. It's time to go!", announced Mufasa. The dinosaurs and lions and the human were saying good-bye."I'll miss you.""So will I. I hope you guys come back soon."The lions soon left after that. As soon as they were home, Simba and Nala couldn't help but think about their dinosaur friends."I hope I see Littlefoot again.", said Simba."I think you will, Simba. I think you will." The End
