Okay, while I was digging through my memory, I realized that there were "The Lion King" references in the Japanese anime "Ginga Nagareboshi Gin" and "Ginga Densetsu Weed".
First up, with GNG:
-In the scene where Ben`s platoon leads Gin to where Riki`s pack usually stays, Riki appears atop a cliff that highly resembles Pride Rock.
-Riki`s second-in-command, Sniper, appears on a lower ledge of the cliff; this resembles Scar on the lower edge of Pride Rock on the original 1995 VHS box cover.
-There is a scene where Ben pushes Sniper down a cliff.
That is all I can think of for now.
As for "Ginga Densetsu Weed"...
-The main enemy, Hougen, is very much like Scar; he tries to rule Ou and kill Gin like Scar does in TLK; the difference is that Mufasa died and Gin survived.
-Gin`s son and the main protagonist, Weed, has a fiery nature like Simba and really wants to lead Ou, but unlike Simba, he wants to wait until his father and current leader, Gin, is deceased; Simba wants to be king now.
-The three Borzoi brothers are at first very much like the hyenas.
-Weed was about the same age as Simba was in the beginning of the movie (pre-stampede and such).
-Simba and Weed end up having children that are very much alike, except Weed`s son, Orion (in the manga)wants to lead, while Simba`s daughter, Kiara, does not.
-Both Weed and Simba have to kill two dangerous enemies before they rule their respective lands.
That`s all for now!
